Hi Everyone,

I am working on swapping out my 7.25" for a 8.25" into my 318v8 Cordoba with the 904 trans (I think its a 998 or something) anyway does anyone know what length drive shaft I require for the swap?

Not sure maybe they are called Tail Shaft in USA, the long bit between the trans and rear end (what we call in NZ a diff :)

Thanks
Bruce

I don't have that info, but the 7 1/4 rear dimension to the yoke is 10.09 inches. The 8 1/4 is 11.69 inches. So your drive shaft for the 8 1/4 might be shorter by that difference. However, I think you may be able to still utilize the shaft that was for the 7 1/4 if the yoke matches. The slightly more than 1.6 inches may be an ok tolerance. Now, if you go to the bigger 8 3/4, it is 2.26 longer at the diff and may be too much. If you a raising you rear end (jacking up the rear to put bigger tires), you gain back some ability to keep the drive shaft you have, just don't load the car down in the back or you will bottom out the shaft.
