Another trip to the states planned.

I'll arrive in NYC on 24th, meeting some old colleagues in the afternoon. Then going west till Dearborn.

Visiting The Ford to see the famous Dodge Deora, probably a once in a lifetime opportunity. Can't miss that one, as I have an A100 myself.

Then, most likely, meeting some friends of friends and lingering south to Ft Myers, meeting more friends and enjoying better weather.

Anyone anywhere around that rough route who likes to meet the German dude with a FMJ?

Of course I'll try to visit some museums on my way.

If you detour North on your way to Michigan, I think you'll pass by me, @Mikes5thAve and @M_Body_Coupe

I'm game. Dearborn isn't far from me. When will you be there? The 27th is a major US holiday, so I won't be able to meet that Thursday.

I know, Thanksgiving. That's why I'm quite happy to habe a car already, considering likely reduced flight schedules...
Anyway. I'll do some planning for my trip and get back to you guys.

A stop in Cleveland is likely due to friend's friends living in the area.

WNY/Southern Ontario would out of the way if you're driving from NYC to Cleveland. The roads will be jammed with cars this week with people traveling.

Meanwhile, I got invited to Thanksgiving in Ft Myers, I'll *plan* to arrive late Thursday afternoon there, IF I'm able to make it.
So, current plan is:
Monday evening -> going West as far as it takes me, starting in NYC. But I think it's only going a couple dozen miles out of the city. Tuesday - driving day to Dearborn with no detour.
Wednesday - early start at "The Henry Ford" museum. I assume it'll take most of the day, leaving Dearborn straight afterwards (afternoon) and hopefully doing a couple hundred miles southward. Then Thursday remainder of the trip.

A hell of a ride...

And it basically leaves Tuesday evening somewhere around (probably south of) Dearborn, MI, do meet, only.

Late to the party you guys - sorry, Brazil business trip, left last Saturday, came back this morning, multiple cancellations and a missed flight - but @69- hopefully that's far removed from your future experience...at least I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Alright...so yeah, local stuff (Windsor, ON for me) but Detroit area otherwise, I'd be thrilled to meet up and empty a pint/mug!

@69- If your plan to cross the border (Canada to US) is through Windsor, I would love to have you stop at my house for a little R&R - I live in Windsor all of about 15 mins from NA's busiest border crossing, that being the Ambassador Bridge.

But otherwise, if I read your last post correctly, I would be happy to meet up with everyone on TUE the 25th as well!!!

Safe Travels in the meantime...

Thanks for thinking about me :) but I'm closer to the top end of NY about 8 hours away from there.

Sounds like a fun trip you have planned, good luck with the weather and traffic!

No need to burn a day, I guess. I'd think I'll arrive in Dearborn late afternoon.

Will keep you posted next Monday when I leave NYC or know how far I can get on Monday evening.

Do you have a nice location in/south of Dearborn or that area?

You can also get my mobile number, just ping me and I'll call back (will have all-intl-minutes included)

you said you're spending Thanksgiving in Ft Myers, Florida? if you happen to be driving down and swing by Baltimore way, i wouldn't mind saying hi

To be honest, Dearborn is kind of a shithole. I usually pass right through it on 696 unless I'm going to the axle shop. I can be anywhere in the city in about 20 minutes from work, but I couldn't hazard a guess on what's nice. You, I and @M_Body_Coupe should hope on a Teams/Zoom/Meet call and plan this out.

Here are a couple of places in Dearborn that I can recommend:
Buddy's Pizza, 22148 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI 48124;
Leon's Family Dining, 23830 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI 48124. Both are located a few miles west of The Henry Ford.
