the immediate plan is to get it back to being road worthy. would like to warm it over a bit. right now it drives and handles like a slug. its the sloth of my current line up of cars and it has the biggest engine. from reading on here seems biggest gain is just swapping gears. figured do carb/intake and exhaust. had been thinking dual, but sounds like there are some interference issues with that so maybe just a 2.5" single? the exhaust seems to be the only spot im not sure what to do yet. i know i need to replace the muffler as currently it has a large hole in it, seems amazingly quite still tho, maybe thats just since it looks so restrictive.

I did a Y into 2.5" on my M body. It's best for scavenging at these lower flow levels (keeps velocity up) and it sounds the best IMO. Try using a pre-designed Y pipe that matches your pipe diameters if you can. That takes some of the volumetric witchcraft out of the operation.
