Just a stupid question, the lowering blocks will sit between the rear end perch on the bottom and the top of the shock mount plate right?
I'm digging this thread up to see if you can expound on this a little... when you come back. The kit I bought from work comes with longer u bolts. So you don't have to pay extra for u bolts.
I have not tried (or helped anyone try) to lower or raise any vehicle before – but I do have a couple of thoughts on the matter.
30 to 40 year old leaf springs do have a tendency to sag 1-2” (3-6 cm) – but I suspect you are looking for more than that amount.
AREngineering might have something that may be of help at http://arengineering.com/home-page/spring-hangers/ .
There is mention of p/n AR107. That part is in case you can’t find it is "Reinforcement plates, B-body”.
The hangers are reversible (up/down) so you “should” have a total of four different height positions with their hangers (if I recall correctly).
