Not quite, lol. It's getting the Mirada's 323. I'll put pictures up later of where the Mirada's pass/rear subframe is rusting and tearing out. Timing is everything. I'm really digging the car's stance...

My apologies for not seeing this sooner...been across the country this year. I'm beyond extended on finances at this point, didn't get any job this summer. Gotta stay with the mags for a while longer.

Another update...more progress being made:

Car goes into the upholstery shop 9/18 to get all the fabric-wrapped pieces redone, headliner and visors, dash repairs, possibly more. Before then I intend to get the audio system done. It's a kitbash of JVC and Kenwood pieces from my Mirada that worked very well.

PST poly suspension kit is enroute, and once I get around to taking measurements, the new wheels/tires will be ordered.

The driver's window will be repaired, and the A/C will be retrofitted and ready for service.

I am holding off on paint, but the color has been chosen: GM EXH "Night Race Blue". It's one of the new C7 Corvette colors.

Will be getting more pics up soon.

First award, Best Chrysler at a local show. And the new wheels are on it, 16x8 American Racing Novas. I can't get a good pic of the new interior to save my life, but that's done too, as well as new audio gear.

Lots of work done. Found out that a Chrysler LA PCV valve in a hole meant for a SBC PCV valve will vacuum up all the damn oil out of the engine. Driver's power window now functions. Put over 600 miles between Phoenix, Prescott, and Jerome, AZ. And my new piece...one I've been trying to find for almost ten years...

I think a set of 16x8 and 16x9 wheels from an 88-89 chrysler conquest would look cool. The center of the wheel has the pentastar shape. Not sure, but I think the center register hole may need to be enlarged. You may be able to use bigger brakes also.
The Conquest wheels look like they were born for the car. Most TSi models had 16x7" up front and 16x8" in the rear; the SHP option moved the 8" wheels up front and the rears went to 9" wide. The 16x9s are hard to find, though, and pricey when you do. The center register needs to be enlarged, but they're cast aluminum wheels and after looking at it, I really didn't trust the wheels to take the cut safely. The solution I devised was to cut the front rotors' register on a brake lathe by installing the rotor backwards and use the drum-cutting arm with the bit reversed. For the back, put the axle shaft in a standard lathe and step-cut the register to center the wheel, leaving just enough of the original register to center the drum. The only real drawback is that to go back to original wheels, you really should get new rotors and axle shafts. The wheels should center off that register, not the lug nuts. The other drawback is trying to find decent-sized 16" tires.

Here's a couple of pics of an '82 Imperial with the 16x7 and 16x8 standard TSI wheels mocked up:

Yeah, those wheels look great. You could use a spacer/bushing if you wanted to go back to original. Love those wheels with a little taller tire.

The tires I have for the 9" rears are 255/55R16s (27" tall) and no longer available. The ones in the photo are 225/50s (24.8" tall) on the 8" wheels. I sold the 7" front wheels to a friend.

I don't know if you could make a bushing that thin to go back to stock. The center registers are so freakin' close that very little needs to be removed to make the wheels fit. I'd just rather take the material off steel parts than cast aluminum.

I have way too much money invested in them to offer them at what I would consider a reasonable price, and you'd think I was trying to rip you off. Those 9" rear wheels cost me a bundle, and the tires I have for the set would have to go with since I don't have any other 16" wheels.

It's so much easier and cheaper to use a carbied bit on a dremel and buzz out the centers of the wheels, done it on a couple sets without any issues
