Truck we had at the shop a couple days ago. Came in to get the brakes working (master cyl needed rebuilt). It's a 1950 Dodge. The owner of a body shop in town is restoring it. He's going to use it to tow his other truck to shows. I think,,,,,,,,the other one is a '47 or '48(?). Older body style. He's going to paint the tow truck to match and letter it with "1 Hour Towing". Why? His regular modern tow trucks all say "23 hour towing". Why only 23 and not 24 hr? I guess the insurance premiums to have actual 24 hour towing are almost triple vs having 23 hour towing. One of the other body shops in town has "23 1/2 Hour Towing", lol.
If this tow truck turns out half as nice as his '48, it'll be awesome. The other truck is absolutely PERFECT. He's an excellent body/paint guy and so are the other 2 guys that work for him. They can darn near take a car that hit a wall at 60 mph and then flipped end over end 10 times and repair it like new and no matter how close you look at any part of the vehicle (outside, underside, anywhere), you'd never know it's ever had so much as a door ding.
