My son had the rear ISO mounts fail on him today....the u bolts sheered......butt end of the car dropped, axle separated from the leaf springs....

I have never heard of this happening.....but...it happened.....All I can figure is that the ISO stuff failed and resulted in stress on the u bolts?

That, or the u bolts were rotted I guess....

I had seen years ago that someone made a kit that would replace that ISO mount stuff......

I found this from firm feel.....any other options?
Firmfeel Mopar Suspension and Steering

I havent seen the actual mounts he has to see what failed yet.....but with this kit above is that all he would need?

I am having a brain fart and cannot recall where the lower end of the shock mounts.....they muts mount to the axle though cause I think they bottomed out and stopped it from being worse....

He lucked out....he was on side streets when it happened.....

Thanks folks!

There's been the odd case of brackets failing due to rust. It would need to be pretty bad off to cause the U bolts to rust through.

I had the shock mounts snap off my old high mileage 5th Ave after many years...rust and metal fatigue. They are not available new I had to get mine from a scrap yard.

b-body shock plates brother. Ditch the goofy ass ISO and top shock plates. order some B-body plates, centering pins, u bolts, shocks and call it done. The FirmFeel shit is way over priced for what it is.

I've got an "appointment" in the garage later tonight...let me look for these. I know I have a set with the sway bar attachment brackets and I'm going to keep those, but I honestly thought I had saved a spare of the standard plates. More to come...
