I am working on restoring my grandpas 1984 fifth avenue it's dark brown with dark brown carpet and tan lather seats. and I am trying to track down the chrome rocker molding that goes under the doors and between the wheel wells for the passenger side of the car. I've gone to body shops, junk yards and Chrysler dealers and have come up empty handed. I have the new rocker moldings that stick on but it's not really what I want to put on the car. I'd like to put it to how it was the day it rolled off the line at the plant. If anyone could help me find one please let me know. Thanks.

Welcome aboard.
Those are tough items to find. I've been looking locally myself and the best I've come up with so far is driver quality.
They are out there but you have to look....where are you located?

Thanks! I live in the country around argenta, cerro gordo Illinois. I don't care how much I have to spend really because it was my grandpas car and I want to finish where he left off restoring it. How it came was he was driving and had a flat tire and it ripped the molding off the car and tore it all up didn't do any body damage either but he lost the molding and now i am trying to find one again

I might know someone who can help.....
Let me do some snooping and see what I can come up with.
Feel free to post some pics of the Fifth....I'd love to see it and we all love car porn here....

I did see a couple show up on www.car-part.com

Search for 1983-1988 Fifth Ave.
You can also try searching for Diplomat....same trim.
If you strike out I may still be able to hunt some down.

I am redoing the pinstripe my self just have the drivers side to do. It's just a over lay for now the old one just looks so bad so I just did a over lay. But in a few winters when I get the body work i am gonna repaint the whole car and put clear coat on it too

Good to hear you're saving it.
Let me know how it goes with the trim.
We've got a great network going here if you need help with anything else too.

Ok thanks. Iam sure there's gonna be some things I'll need help with. Oh I know of one. My grandpa doesn't have the key to get the wire wheel covers off and was using a flat head screw driver to take them off so I need to find one of those and the key door on the trunk needs replaced it's dangling right now

That hubcap key might be tough to find.
The key door on the trunk has no doubt snapped it's spring.
You might be able to reattach it depending on how bad it is.

Check in with Brad's NOS parts. He has many parts that he doesn't list on his website. There's a strong chance he has them.

Thanks! I didn't get a chance to call about the molding yet but I will be calling them very soon. Also I put a new alternator on but I need to find a new voltage regulator because it has this high pitch whine to it and the battery light comes on and the needle will move with the tick of the turn single. I thought it was the alternator but it still does it so i am hoping it's the regulator but not sure. I stuck my head down in the inside by the hump in the floor in the front near the amp switch and that's where the high pitch whine is the loudest. Do you guys have any ideas of what this noise could be?

Internet diagnosis is very difficult.
If I could hear it I'd be able to take a guess.
Is it a sound or a mechanical vibration of sorts?
