It's funny you guys bring up /6 powered trucks. I've had a couple. Including my current 85. And that one will stay a /6. I actually built a '74 forged crank motor for it because I had it. I ported the head, shaved it 0.070, had oversized valves put in, shaved the block 0.030, bored it 0.020 (fortunately it cleaned up at the smallest OS that I could find pistons for) sent my cam to Oregon for a regrind, and added a super 6 manifold stack with a genuine NOS Carter BBD spec'd for a 318 from mid 70s truck. I then found a needle in the haystack factory 60s /6 to small block trans adapter plate and may be putting an a500 that's under my bench in behind that....
Not sure if I want to go that route or go with the 833od that's in my shed, currently the truck has a nicely shifting 727 behind the/6.
