Getting a little taste of Georgia up here.
Been hanging around 100° during the day and more humid than a crack before a prostate exam......nights are in the low 80's and this is hanging with us all week...

its been snowing all week in Calgary. Started Monday, and has stayed near freezing all week. Today is the since Monday with sun. Its supposed to go to +10C (50F) today, but as of right now, 2:22 PM, it is all of +4C (39F). Had to scrape ice off of the windshield this morning, as it went to -5C (23F) overnight. Then again, its supposed to go to 20C (68F) on Sunday, and 25C (78F) on Monday and Tuesday.

Weather gets a little bit crazy due to the way things get mixed up coming over the Rocky Mountains.

I have heard that the snow that we had in Calgary made the news out east due to how many trees got damaged. The snow came pretty quick, so the trees had no chance to drop their leaves. The snow was pretty heavy, due to the temperatures being around 0C (32F). The leaves captured a lot of the heavy snow, and the weight of the captured snow broke off some pretty big branches. Some were just in the street, but some fell onto people's houses and cars. City clean up has been going on for the last 3 days. 30,000 homes in Calgary lost power (all restored), and a few towns outside of Calgary had either partial or full outages.

I'm hoping this isn't a sign of what were in for this winter.....

It doesn't usually indicate anything for Calgary. Its snowed here in August, and we had a very mild winter. It has snowed in July, and we had an average winter. Weather systems get very messed up coming over the Rockies, and the Rockies are only 150 KM away. It gets bad in the passes; I was driving to the BC interior through Rogers pass a few years back. 22C on the Alberta side, 24C on the BC side (with noticeably higher humidity on the BC side); snow and -3C in the actual Rogers pass. Its just the way it is around the Rockies.
