Thanks!

Sad part is, the pics aren't at night technically. It's that dark at 6:15 in the evening already. Way too early.......................

Sad to see such a nice Caravelle in with all of that Garbage Motors, but I guess they wanted something to class up that row.:icon_pirat:

Aspen500 I guess I did not realize you had replaced your side marker lamps with the 60's style lamps. I like that look a lot on that F Body. Nicely done!

LOL,,,,,,,,,,Chicken cars.

Thanks Darth! One of the first things I noticed when I was the ripe old age of 4, when my dad picked up his new '68 Dodge Coronet (which he still has) at the dealer, was those marker lights. Thought they were the coolest things. No offense to those that like them but I always thought the "corporate" side markers looked like cheap add on's.

Yes, everybody else had cool recessed marker lamps, and on many 70's cars we had surface mount. What was up with that anyway?

I whipped it out today, and took a sunny afternoon drive to Urbana, Ohio. There I met up with a nice young fellow that we all know as BrotherGood. He is a heck of a nice guy. We had a great time swapping stories, and showing off our rides to each-other. It was a great day for a drive!

You two are almost neighbors?

The young lad is about 45 minutes away from me. He lives in one of our nice small Ohio towns, where as I am closer to several major cities.

Isn't that what those are?
Firechickens?

They had a big flaming chicken on the hood.......?

Yes they are! Back in the mid '80's a girl I went with for about a year (until I found out she was a two faced, backstabbing, lying, you know what.) had a '76 Trans Am with a "big bad" 400 (bone stock Pontiac 400). Arrest me red, giant chicken on the hood, air shocks, M50-15's, side pipes, and all the other stuff that was popular back then. What a POOCH! The car I mean, she was HOT!

On what is most likely one of the last nice days for a while, took the car out this morning for a nice drive. Went to a couple places I haven't been to in years. Almost got lost because it's all changed so much from what I remember, and changed for the better. Reason I say probably one of the last is, supposed to be 100% sun and 80 today then all it shows for the next few days is high 50's which I suppose is average for this time of year. Better than below average!

Stopped on the way back at the Town of Rib Mt. Recreation Area for a couple shots in the early morning sun (about 8am) and then at a small park (basically basketball courts and a parking lot, lol) for a couple more. There's one much nicer and bigger just around the curve but too many trees blocking any sunlight at that one. What's up with that? A park with trees,,,,,,,,,,,,:)

I'm thinking the car WILL be back out of the garage this evening.

Technically I guess, the season doesn't officially end until the first salting. Not necessarily after the first snow. If they don't salt it's still OK once the roads are dry. Yeah, IF they don't salt. Big if.

Thanks Cap'n. As promised (I promised myself, lol) got the car out again last evening. Nice night just after sunset, still in the 70's at that point. Window down, heat off, sound of a 500" BB through a pair of Super Dyno-Max's,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.

I'm hoping for this weekend but we'll see how that goes.
Lots to do this time of year.

That's why I shoot these.

This was two weekends ago.

Now I can watch it in the winter. :toothy12:

Whipped it out a couple evenings ago. Decided to cruise around the side streets near my neighborhood. One problem. The moon wasn't out yet and it was like a dark that was darker than dark. The Town of Rib Mt. is kind of light (no pun intended) on street lights except on the main drags which are lit up like daytime with the overhead lights and the million lights from the shopping centers, strip malls, restaraunts, and other assorted businesses along them. Mostly the side streets only have a light at the intersections,,,,,,,,,,,,maybe. Discovered my headlights are not aimed good at all. I've got Hella halogen conversions with H4 bulbs and low/high beam relays. They're really bright but the low beams only shined about 30 feet in front of me. Funny as it sounds, that was the first time ever driving the car at night away from the main drags. For some reason the lights don't fade farther away, it's like a line on the road. Bright behind the line and pitch black in front. Couldn't see a damn thing and came back home.

So, brought the headlight aimers home from work to remedy the situation. I know, could just aim them by eye on a dark road but if you've got the equipment, use it right?
