Hi Guys,

Ok I have a set of valve springs, I am not about to use them but want to know how to measure them. I measured the spring uncompressed at 49.7mm and put it in my vice and wound it up and it measured 32.5mm that's a difference of 17.2mm or for you Americans 0.68" But something tells me that's not the full storey.

Here is my cam I want to know if the springs will be ok with this cam

Purple Shaft Hydraulic Camshaft & Lifter Kit
  • Chrysler 273, 318, 340, 360
  • Advertised Duration: 268°/272°
  • Centerline: 110°
  • Lift: .450"/.455"
  • RPM Range: 1500 to 5800

Thanks
Bruce

Some people say you can get away with stock spirings. The problem is you may end up with valve float at higher rpms.
Use some Comp Cam #901 springs. Its cheap insurance.

Without knowing the specs on the springs it's hard to say BUT, with that cam they should be just fine, especially with the damper.
