After a 3 hour round trip to get a new, certified copy of my marriage certificate so I can send it to Social Security to determine my widow benefits, I made a new decision.

I'm having two amaretto sours tonight and reading a smutty romance before I crash tonight and remove stale gas tomorrow.

My collection numbers are going down. If I keep this up, I'll need to order more. Oh ya, I just did.:cool:

No doubt.
However, I'm giving myself a year to get through this emotional roller coaster.

I'm cheating tonight though -- hot chocolate with kalua and a 1000 piece puzzle while I surf the yutube channels to watch the rocket launches of : spacex, rocketlab, This-old-Tony and somebody recommended Watch-Wes-Work ... so I'll check that out as well.

No drink tonight.
Being sad and alcohol is not a good combination.

This is a dreary Valentines this year.
Manana should be warmer and sunnier.

I ordered a bunch of bottles that came in today. What could possibly go wrong here. We tasted through these and a couple more. Really not a bad bottle in the bunch. $40-180.

It was fun. We tasted through those and sampled 2 more. Good thing we poured light.
Yeah my drinking glass holds 4oz so I would have trouble remembering what #1 tastes like after #8…, probably after #4… lol

I need to do some scientific comparisons this afternoon. Which one shall I share at Whisky tasting this Thursday. The club has bought 2 Glenmo's we can't get here and a few of us are bringing our favorites to share with the group.

I just got these in today. It is a barrel pick from a few whisky You Tubers I watch. Oh my, quite delicious. Apricot and peach flavors. Hard to believe those flavors come from distilling grains and some yeast.

Choppy day -- but it ended well.
Today we have Green Apple.
feb.jpg

Today was a 5 hour roundtrip, road trip.
Met my brother's girlfriend and she drove to hair salon.
Yes, I finally after 15 years got my hair trimmed and styled by a professional.
Cut about 12 inches off the bottom, so its no longer down to my waist -- stops about my shoulders.
Should be cooler this year working on/under vehicles/tractors.
And according to the 3 different people who spoke about it, I'm told that all the gray hair I'm getting is 'natural, awesome, and people pay a ton to get the kind of mixed gray/color' that I have on my head.
Whauuuuuttt???
People are paying for you to color their hair gray?
Then to top it off, the haircut was gifted to me from his girlfriend.
Followed that up with lunch, which I paid for and plenty of gossip.
Swung by and picked up older bro. Drove to pick up fried chicken and visited one of his high school buds that was diagnosed with brain cancer in January. He's had surgery and is recovering at home now. Not sure what type it is, but he's still walking the earth right now.
Ended the wonderful day, as any good Friday night does, grocery shopping and filling the car up with gas after another 2.5 hours driving home.
So -- feet are up, butt in chair, and drink in hand.

It's been almost a week and it's 5:00 somewhere. I started a little early. Just a little Jim Beam Winter Reserve in the glass to start. Not a big Beam fan but this stuff is pretty tasty if you can find it. The Beam Black 7 year is pretty good as well.

The whiskey looks good but the bottle is much too full…
:D :D We were trying to rectify that situation. Between the two of us we have around 30 bottles. Some are duplicates between the two of us and we each have a few extra bottles of favorites.

No Friday night libation this week for me.
Trying to get out of town on Saturday for a road trip & my cat decides Thursday afternoon is the optimum time to have her 5 kittens.
So I'm up most of Thursday night/morning with this first time mom.

Then, of course, the well-house pump burnt up sometime in the past week during the icey cold weather so Wednesday (50 miles roundtrip) to find a replacement pump with all its parts in the box.

Thursday -- cat/kittens

Friday -- was supposed to be load day for the trip; but, turned into 91 miles traveled, 5 stores visited, and still no one has a schedule 40 pvc female union with threaded ends in 1 1/4 inch. Found a schedule 80, bought it, came home and installed it and it leaks like a sieve. Gave up for the night.

Saturday -- was supposed to leave on road trip today. Instead, drove 34 miles round trip to get the schedule 40 union my brother bought me when I called in a favor on Friday and he was still nearly in Dallas. Go down to his place to get the part and pick up the car hauler to bring it home so I can leave on Sunday to go pick up the 56 Chevy which is 6 hours away in west texas. And of course, the trailer I loaned him and his son (two axle) last year has two (not one but TWO) flats, chains are too short for my chevy using my brother's drop hitch, left trailer light isn't working, and the tags I bought in Nov last year were never put on the trailer plate.
Sigh.. I just am so frustrated -- soooo

Called my cousin and since I have to be there early Tuesday morning for the Blessing of the Grave for my Aunt, I'm going to Plan B. Not taking the truck or the trailer. Taking the car, putting the 4 new tires for the 56 Chevy in the back of the car, leaving on Monday. Sunday is now the day I fix my plumbing by replacing the union so I can wash clothes and flush toilets again.

I've neglected so much these past 10 months grieving and it is starting to catch up with me. Day-Ummm.

Cousin's husband says he's holding something special for me to imbibe along with a smoked brisket this week after the grave blessing. So I'll check back in later this coming week.

Did find time last night to see the planetary alignment (including the moon) as well as the space station went over and 4 other satellites. I want to get a telescope.
