Back then they were just old used Dodges and AMC's- kind like destroying '02 Mustangs right now. Don't like it, but that was all the consideration it was given back then

Here is my 1989 Dodge Diplomat Salon patrol car. All original other than one repaint in the factory-correct dark cherry. 74,000 miles are documented as actual -- it was a supervisor's car and did little patrol duty, then it was in a private collection for a decade after leaving duty. Thank goodness it was spared a second tour of duty as a taxi. A blast to drive!

My Dad had a few early 80's Diplomat cop cars. I have some parts I can post pictures of in the for sale thread if some one is interested. A front cap and I believe a dash. The parts a couple hours away but I'm over there about once a month and could take pictures.

The Dual Spotlight are cool. My 86 AHB parts car only has one.
Yeah, when you pull up to a friends house and shine that light
into their picture window it does freak them out.
He thought its was either the Cops or Aliens.
But after the first time they know its you, lol.

Whenever Dad came upon someone he knew at night hanging out parked somewhere, party what have you, side of road he'd spot them .. they always thought it was the cops :)

That is a really sharp car with those wheels Bryan and in that color. Usually I am not a fan of aftermarket wheels and prefer the cop wheels, but that car is sharp!

My '88 has the spot and still has the wig-wags, so that'll extra freak friends.

I think mine still has the wig-wags,
Because my flashers flash side to side
rather than just off and on.
The holes in the front bumper probably had the red and blue lights.
Some depts save that stuff for the next unit.
and others let everything go with them.

If you're going to use the wig-wags, be awfully sure there aren't any police nearby. They get rather upset about it.

Lol..he is the police.

I've got an 86 cop car. Eventually, it'll be a track car/boulevard cruiser..one buck at a time.

No, I have the front end all apart and I'm still degreasing the damn thing.
