Hi guys, I'm swapping from a slanty with a 3-speed to a small block with a 1970 A-body 4-speed. Who knows if the Z-bar is the same or different?

Different, the V8 has more leverage than the 6 zbar, a V8 bar is needed.
Mopar chassis book says not to try and modify the 6 bar.

brewer's shows a /6 bar at 8"; small block 7", hmmm been there/ done that. I'll mock up the block and bell in the car and see what the 'ol wizard can do
