FMJ-bodies use the same engine mounts as late A-bodies, and late B-bodies. A straight swap is fairly easy for the Gen3 Hemi, Schumacher engine mounts http://www.manciniracing.com/tti57hestenm.html, will bolt the engine to the K-member, Hooker and TTI http://www.ttiexhaust.com/Category-ClassicHeaders/Subcategory/ccGenIII.htm make swap headers, and Milodon makes oil pans. The Gen3 uses an LA-engine bell housing patern. The flexplate is available form a number of sources too. The hardest part is controling the engine.

Thanks for the pics of the front end. What set up for the rack/spindles/brakes is used with the alterktion?

The rack and spindles are included in the kit. I believed they're based on Ford spindles. There are a lot of options for brakes. I went with the Wilwood 4 piston kit.

A few more interior progress pics. It shouldn't be long now! Hopefully I'll be ready for Carlisle.

Joe12459's swap on the othe rhand is awesome, and shows a lot of hard work and attention to detail.

My biggest challenge was that I wanted to use the engine and trans, keep the computer controls, and not cut up the car in the process. I couldn't use conversion mounts on the stock K-frame without serious modification to the firewall and tunnel. This way, everything I added can be easily removed in the future. I did the same with the rest of the car. All of the Charger interior, HVAC and other parts I used were modified to fit the Mirada, not the other way around. It made for quite a challenge, but I think it was worth the hassle.

X2, Joe12459 will you be at the Syracuse Nationals? 7-16 to 7-18? Or the Lake George show in Sept?
Id love to check out your car

I'm hoping to make it to Carlisle the weekend before Syracuse. I hadn't thought about much after that, but Syracuse sounds good. Do you know how to register? Lake George in September might be tough for me, but I may make it there.

I register a year in advance for both shows, with RV camping. I also go to the Pocono NASCAR races in June and August, u can do a one day "park on my site" at any of these events. Plenty of drinking......lol
