Bruce’s is more of a custom low restriction, way downstream V-pipe, with the forgetaboutit catalytic converter option.

The one I have a picture of (post # 13) was modeled after a rusty ’78 non-Californian Y-pipe and made by a local muffler shop.
https://www.forfmjbodiesonly.com/classicmopar/threads/the-canadian-y-pipe.5866/ gives a bit more information.
The only thing I didn’t do is show the ’80 Y-pipe on top of the 2½” version I have for sale (to show how small the original Y-pipe is).

NY is safety and visual inspection for emissions on 25+ year old vehicles. Should have a cat, can be empty, unless you go to a place like Walmart. They gave me 20 excuses why they wouldn't and couldnt put new tires on my van. FD had the blaze under control within hours. I had questions to answer. jk No independent shop cares. As long as the obvious stuff, ie; glass tires horn brakes and lights are good, nothing else matters.

Ive meet Brucey, he's only an hours drive away, brought a spare 360 block ( because 1 is never enough ) some CNCd heads and a couple of items off him that he had for sale after he got the magnum. I stumbled upon his thread and recognised his name and car. Its a small world we live in!

Very nice! Love the car with the new paint and everything you've done!

Man, I wish I could find some leather seats for my 80 Cordoba :(

The 5th Ave leather interiors are a good option. They still are not too hard to find and the front seats are a direct bolt-in. The leather is of excellent quality.

Hog rings and hog ring pliars, available at your local rural supply house, or online. Simple and easy to learn how to use.

The rear seat takes a little more work. Learning to hog ring a seat cover on the metal frame is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Hog rings remove fairly easily, you take a screwdriver and pry them apart, lifting off the cover as you go.

Two of the 5th Ave rear seat seatbacks work best. The 4 door rear seat seat-bottom frame is rounded off at the ends. It's squared off in the coupes, making the squared off seat-back cover a better fit. Just find 2 Fifth Aves of the same color inside and you're set.

In 2010,I inherited my Dad's 5thAve when he expired. I drove it for 9 months, but never appreciated it. After that, it sat on my corner lot for three years, with no takers.
Besides the de-laminating cloth everywhere, it was pretty minty. And the leather seats were truly very comfortable. But it was IMO, the ugliest gold/tan/bronze color ever.
I sold it in 2014 for $550, the value of the very low mileage tires on it,which Dad had installed just weeks before his death in 2010.

Dad purchased that car as a 3-year old,IIRC and really loved it.He was always bragging on the ride, the comfort, and the 25mpgImp it would regularly return.I guess that would be 20-USmpg.

I loveeeeeee my leather 5th ave interior I grafted into my Cordoba with Mr Volares Help! Hog rings are a piece of cake, I have never used them before until now! Just need big pliers to get the old rings off! or work out your own method to get them off.
