Anyone? Post up the pics! Or even pictures of any others! (I saw a couple old threads that bremereric posted).

I remember back when the town I lived in was auctioning or selling a bunch of retired ones. They were light metallic blue, and they painted over and/or removed all the graphics and badging and removed all the equipment and I saw them driving around for years. I wish I'd bought one, I'll bet they sold them cheap.

I probably have a soft spot because back when I was a kid/teen, these are the cars I saw cruising the highways and small towns in Illinois and Wisconsin. Later on, I even remember sitting in the back of a couple LOL. Now that I'm a more respectable citizen, mostly on the right side of the law, I'd love to have one.

I've got an '85 AHB Gran Fury, old unit number 1794. Slick top, dual spots, white w/dark blue interior. It is a full cop-spec unit, but it spent it's time in service as an arson investigation unit. A friend of mine, who is a retired postal inspector, bought the car @auction and I swapped an AMC 401 and some cash for the car. I posted up a picture or two here from when I took it out of the barn (my buddy still has probably 3 dozen cars), should be able to find it easy enough. The cars are still out there, RJ2 is selling a Cali car right now

WAYYY back in the day when the city here went to crown vics, the old cop cars here went up for auction (they still do auction the retired units) The sad part was that they couldn't seem to even give them away @ the time... 200-400 bux was all they were bringing. But they sold them, of course some of them the spots were removed some not, of course all the light bars etc were removed, but they wore the black and white proudly. Used to be dozens of them running around but to my knowlege no-one 'restored' or kept them original, and most were driven untill they just quit. most ended up in the few yards around here, and have been sense crushed... its a shame really. The vic's they auction tho are another story, usually cant touch one for less than 2500!!! and seems most end up with 24's on em and a goofy looking stance....

Still have my '85 and just bought an '88 AHB for parts. It was still active in a county's fleet, bought it for under $400 after everything! It's getting stripped for parts

Change of plans- the '88 just might become a competitor in the "24 Hours of LeMons" race.
