WANTED 1980 F-Body coupe or wagon

Late to the party, but I was starting to gauge interest in my wagon. Not pristine by any stretch, but it fits your criteria.

    Quick Question: Rear U-Bolt Size

Hey everyone. It's been a while. I find myself at work and I'm hoping to find out from someone the U-bolt dimensions for the rear (5) leaf springs on my 1980 Volare wagon. I want to order my new springs, bushings, and bolts, but just need to know the size. Given that it's a wagon with the 8...

    k member isolator bushings

In prepping for the rear spring job I'll be doing in the next couple weeks, I decided to get under the car to check out the k-frame bushings to see the status. They look really good, in that there is no cracking or other wear that I can see. Which led me to wonder if there is any inherent...

First Leaf Spring Replacement, am I prepared?

If that's not the case is it necessary for me to go down to John R Spring (which happens to be 15 minutes from me) with my springs and figure out a resolution with them? Whether it be bigger bushings, smaller eyelets, or whatever? Or is there an acceptable range of looseness?

First Leaf Spring Replacement, am I prepared?

I was hoping someone could let me know how the bushings should fit into the above mentioned replacement springs. The front eyelets are round and apparently come pre-packed with bushings but the rear does not. I bought a set of rear bushings from Moog and they fit loosely into the rear eyelets...

First Leaf Spring Replacement, am I prepared?

True that. I was actually just thinking that I should look into getting some of that rust neutralizer that I read about on this forum a while back to take care of the rear portion of the frame while I'm in there. The underneath is actually in great shape due to what I assume was some form of...

First Leaf Spring Replacement, am I prepared?

So then it looks like I have all of the parts covered? Can anyone recommend a particular good paint or are there any opinions on that?

First Leaf Spring Replacement, am I prepared?

Hi all, Been gone a while but I'm back now. In a few weeks I am going to undertake the leaf spring replacement for my '80 Volare wagon. I already have the springs (5-leaf, all good there) as well as all of the hangers involved (thanks Deconstructor Jim!). I will be re-using the stock plate...

    Front end lean

As in the infamous K member pucks?

Can anyone recommend some good quality shocks?

Let's face it, I've never cared much about shocks and have always bought the midline Monroes and such. I was looking to get some new shocks for my Volare wagon to replace the stocks and was looking for a recommendation that would provide a really nice ride, perhaps better than OEM. I would spend...

    Thanks. I'll look into that.

    Front end lean

Hey guys. I was wondering what causes the front end to lean (in my case to the passenger side). I'm already looking in to replacing the rear springs and was curious to know the answer to this as well.

    Rear frame rails

I may be interested if this second job comes through. Would this fit an '80 Volare wagon? That spot is in desparate need of TLC.

'80 Volare again: Exhaust to Air Cleaner tubing

Excellent. Thanks for the wealth of knowledge I'm receiving!

    Rusted frame

There is a pretty common rust-through spot on F-body frames. The front left member that runs underneath the driver seat and heads toward the engine. I bought a subframe section from a company in Rhode Island for about $137 if that's something you're interested in. Look up Mopar F-body subframe...

'80 Volare again: Exhaust to Air Cleaner tubing

OK, so I trashed the tightly coiled aluminum (foil) hose that runs from the top of the exhaust manifold to the underside of the air cleaner. Anyone know where I can get a new replacement, OR, know of a highly effective substitute (such as alternative materials or fabrications)?

    Windshield trim removal, 1980 Volare

Excellent, thanks for that. I'm assuming that I go in from the windshield side and not the body side, correct?

    Windshield trim removal, 1980 Volare

Howdy all. I was hoping someone could give me some pointers on where to start when removing the chrome windshield trim on my volare. The bottom passenger side trim is pulled away from the windshield due to a ding in it and it presents as a pretty good water leak to the cockpit. What's the...

Water leak into passenger side floor

After getting a brief chance to examine the compartment, I found that the hinges are amazingly intact so I don't think that's it. However, I think I may have found a reason, and I feel rather silly if it is actually the cause. So, the rubber seal that attaches to the hood near the windshield...

Water leak into passenger side floor

Great, I'll try that. I do have A/C, in theory anyway. It is in no way operational, but it's there. Was actually just going to remove the whole system.

Water leak into passenger side floor

This has been driving me a bit nuts so I'm hoping someone might have had this experience. I realized it during the late winter when I was installing my stereo cables beneath the passenger carpet. There was a shallow ice block in the front passenger floor pan. At that time, given the season, I...

    not mine on feebay

I would swear that car was a Volare. The interior is in every single way the same as my Volare except I have a column shifter (no center console). Every aspect of dash, seats, door panels, cargo area, cargo storage doors, glove box, everything is the same. Why make two different car lines...
