    1977 Gas Tank Removal

I'm curious about that too. I keep getting alternating readings of a quarter of a tank, an eighth of a tank and completely empty. I feel like it should be very close to empty by this time. When I put the vacuum pumper tube into the tank, it felt like it went past a little trap door or something...

    1977 Gas Tank Removal

OK. Good to know. So, removal of the full neck. That is unbolting the three screws in the fuel filler of the body, and then also on the tank? Are there three screws holding it in there also? I don't remember seeing any, but it was a cursory look over. The car was manufactured 7-1977. So this has...

    1977 Gas Tank Removal

It looks like my fuel tank has more than just old gas in the tank. I noticed rust flakes as I got down to the bottom of the barrel. Has anyone removed their fuel tank, and if so, can anyone make suggestions or list some dos and don'ts that they learned from their experience?

Sudden 0 oil pressure!!! 1979 Chrysler LeBaron

AH! Dirty Grandma has the bullet-style sideview mirrors, I see, and it looks like they're painted/color coded to the car! Dad's had these on his Diplomat, but his were in chrome. Would you mind taking a photo of the place where the mirror is attached into the door? I'd like to see what the base...

1977 Diplomat Medallion Cleanup and Prep for First Fire in Five Years

Yes. That WAS gasoline. The car has sat between 4 and 6 years. The original owners said that they stopped driving it after COVID hit. Each of those plastic DEF bladders has about 2.5 gallons in it. I think I have about one more bladderfull left in the tank. I'm going to take it to a hazardous...

It Finally Happened: The Medallion Returns!

Thanks, y'all! Well, she's one-family owned, was born in July of 1977 and needs lots of love. She's got a 318 and auto, air. Only 63,000 miles. Unfortunately, she's sat outside quite a bit, but the paint is wowing me as I have been compounding it back into a shine. It's that Sable Iridescent and...

1978 Gas Tank Removal/Replacement out of an M body

Has anyone ever removed and replaced the gas tank out of an M body before? Any tips or tricks you can share? Any suggestions on replacement tanks? Are they re-popping these or will this be a junkyard find that's boiled out and restored? Thanks! JD

WANTED Looking for a '79 Dodge Diplomat Medallion

Well, thanks man. I hope that one day I will find one close. That's probably the nicest looking wagon of yours I've seen since....what? The Reagan administration? Wow. I always had fun looking for upgrades for our old car too. But back in the '90s, parts were really plentiful. Looking back, I'd...

WANTED Looking for a '79 Dodge Diplomat Medallion

Once upon a time in a world seemingly far less complicated, my dad bought his first brand new car out of the showroom. It was an end-of-year sale, and the old Coronet was a little too long in the tooth for family reliability. She was a loaded '79 Medallion Series sedan. Painted eggshell white...
