Home Made Custom Rear Speaker Cover

Had some free time today and decided I did not like the way my rear speakers show threw my rear glass. Decided to close it in for a cleaner professional look. Looks good to me.

What did you do, just glue thin black carpet right over the original package tray? Was it carpeted underneath and you just put the new carpet over the old, or are those just bare cardboard?

Looks great by the way!

That is a piece of panel board that came from a furniture store that they were throwing away it was 6 ft x 2 ft so worked perfectly for the project. The carpet and Loctite adhesive I already had sitting around the house. The car was missing the panel piece when I bought the car. So turned out pretty nice for something free in material. And thanks I try.

Looks great. What carpet material did you use?

You can buy that carpet at any Lowe's pretty cheap. I had left over carpet I did one of my work tables in my garage with awhile back. Even when it is glued to the panel board there is still enough room allowed to slide under the rear window bottom trim piece. Carpet is right at 1/2 Inch. Fits really nice and tight and will not slide once you have the bottom trim piece screwed down in place.

Yeah, I got some rolls of carpet that look just like that at Home Depot. I'm doing my entire rear firewall and rear seat area with it (the parts that aren't covered by the main carpet after the rear seat is removed). I'm going to do this exact same thing then, so it will all match. I think if I put it over the existing carpeted package tray, the result would be too thick.

Thanks again.

Interior Seats And Panels

Well have been so busy working 12's haven't had a lot of free time to do much of anything else here lately been wore out. Anyways popped the seats in and all newly painted interior pieces. Seats cleaned up nicely. Gotta love that Vinyl smell in these old cars. Looks good to me.

Cant Wait For Floor Panel Plugs In Mail. My Solution To This.

Went to Advance Auto Parts ask them if they had rubber plugs they said nope. Well I am always finding a solution to everything I refuse to take no for a answer. Who has time to always wait on parts. Found some rubber oil drain plugs 3/4". I thought Hmm they will work. Got a razor knife out and trimmed them a little. Popped them in the floor. Perfect snug fit.
