This looks like a really nice survivor. Unusual optional two-tone paint. Slant six, four speed, 34,000 miles. This would be a hit at car shows IMO. Nice. :)

Is that a factory paint scheme? I have never seen that before.

Yes, it is. Here is a pic of the same colors from the '76 Volare sales brochure:

And a pic from the '76 Aspen sales brochure in yellows:

The 2 tone option continued into '77. Here is a '77 Volare in silver/black, and a "Fun Runner" in burgundy and silver:

They also offered the option in 2-tone green and I think in blues. They were unusual when new, and now very rare to see at all.

As two tone paint jobs go, they are pretty cool. I generally don't like two tone paint jobs. but I do like these, and the Silver and Blue or Silver and Black on the '78-'79 Magnums.

That is a cool car and a semi early 76 and I would attribute the whole combo to that since they were trying to get some of everything out in the public eye. If that car was within a day of me id probably go get it if they would be a bit flexible on price.

Trunk looks good, nice org. jack setup and the tail wiring and tail light buckets show its been in a good place.

I could drive a car like that every day.

My exwife used to buy from the clearance rack and come home with the crap know one else would buy. The stuff was unique because nobody else had it but that didn't mean it looked good.

I think it shows how desperate Chrysler was back then to find something that they could sell.

Well, at least it's not black, white, silver, or gray like everything is today. It was a different time, and 43 years ago, these paint schemes looked pretty good. Although it is not current in terms of taste, it is very unusual and rarely seen. I would never paint it as long as the paint was in good shape. I remember a man I worked with many years ago had a Volare like this with the yellow two tone. I didn't like it back then because I didn't think the darker mustard went well with the lighter yellow. But even then, it was very unusual to see one. Remember when people would paint over their several year old Plum Crazy Mopars to make them more current with the times?

I had a two tone yellow, white interior, 4 speed coupe, 318. Again not sure what ended up to it, I bought it as a parts runner. F were fun cheap cars and most were not as rusted out as the early dusters were. The dusters lower rear quarters seemed to rust as easy as the F-s front fenders.

Yep! They were everywhere. Then suddenly, they were gone. Downright rare these days.

Now plum crazy is one of the most over used colors right next to sub lime. I'm sick of both of them!
Mopar had some cool colors, theres a blue in 76 that's really nice, a friends mom had a Cordova back in the day blue with a white top and interior beautiful car.
