Could someone post a picture or two of the factory rear amp ,the one with the power button under the dash. I'm trying to get mine connected after a botched stereo install and two different installers have said that it cant be done, however they are both trying to sell me new amps. I am disabled and cant crawl uround under the dash so I must suffer the advice of fools. Thank you

If you can wait a couple days, I have a factory shop manual for 87 and if it has any wiring diagrams for the amp I'll post them. I'm not near any of my hoard at the moment

Installers only need to know the products they sell, I have known quite a few over the years and the basic OEM systems are not something that they get into, a dealership mechanic would probably be more helpful.

Probably not many left at dealers who gave knowledge on 40 year old cars. Depending on how badly they hacked up the wiring the service manual wiring diagrams are whatll be needed.

It's located in the dash where the single speaker would go in the cheap cars.

1988 didn't have it so it wouldn't be in the manual.

Makes sense.
‘89 only mentions its main circuit ID code as ‘X’ with the speaker/lighter/radio/speed control, ect…but it’s not shown in any diagrams. BFG 41 & 42 in the ‘89 manual are for the Canadian air/heater circuits.
Just no longer applicable by ‘89.
