I know an old lady who swallowed a dog
What a hog to swallow a dog!
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider
That wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly
But I don't know why she swallowed that fly
Perhaps she'll die
No word on the mouse...

No action in the cabin HOWEVER
that dang mouse got on the glue trap in the trunk, got stuck and chewed a half circle out of the edge of the glue trap and left.

Go big or go home .... so
tonight I put two glue traps overlapping on top of a large piece of granite and taped the down to the granite with gorilla tape.

He's gonna have to have big muscles to get away this time.

I'm surprised he did not get his nose stuck while chewing his leg free.

What I found yesterday:

What I found today after I replaced the trap:
IMG_4412.jpg

Notice there is water - again- on the upper ledge at the rear and there is water under the granite with the traps taped to it.

Rain came from the east instead of the west and south.
Water appears it came in directly behind the 'chrysler' plate in the center at the back:

The trunk latch is to the right of my hand and the shiny area under the electric lines is water.

Left side outside doesn't seem to be leaking

There is a gap above (the top angle). Is that supposed to have weatherstripping in it? When the wind came from the east it was headed directly into the back end of the car.

Here's the right side:

Pictures were funky since I was trying to get images before the rain started again. Doesn't seem to be leaking on the right side.

So the mouse is still at large.
I have a new water intrusion from the rear.
Apparently my water prevention further back in the trunk only works if the wind/water is hitting the car from the front.

This might be the time to do the old get in the trunk routine when you finally get a sunny day. If you're in there and close the trunk you'll immediately see light where it's getting in.

I'd do just about anything for you, for the guys on the forum, for my family, for my country
but
I will not get in a trunk with mice running lose. Especially ones that can chew their way off a glue trap.

Maybe after the mouse hunt is finished. Ugh

Lol......yes. Once you deal with your mouse THEN you could try the trunk trick.

The only reason I suggest it again is because it's so strange that water is still getting in there and that method is a sure fire way to find the culprit.

The reason I suggest the get in the trunk test is because even though all the seal is there it's possible that it's been flattened is a spot or two or that the trunk is slightly out of adjustment and the seal isn't making good contact somewhere.

Yesterday...
IMG_4421.jpg

Old peanut butter.. mouse poop ... mouse hair

Decided to upgrade from a mouse glue trap to a RAT glue trap:
Today:
IMG_4429.jpg

He had chewed almost two inches of plastic on the ride bust behind his head trying to get free. Was still alive when I found him. He is not alive now.

Tomorrow, I get to clean up everything interior again. There is mouse poop everywhere.

How did he get back and forth??
My fault entirely.

I had created the avenue by removing the pedestal, third brake light when the lamp socket in it busted. Never, put it back in since I needed to fix it first.

Doh!
