Bit the bullet and ordered a set of Monroe shocks from Rock Auto (front and rear). Worth a try. Might be better, might be worse. Won't know unless I try, yes?:cool:

I looked and sure enough, like jasperjacko said, KYB is the same part number for both a '79 Aspen and a '75 Royal Monaco 440 for front shocks, while Monroe lists 2 completely different p/n's. There aren't many brand choices for F-body shocks. Basically KYB and Monroe for the most part it appears.
