Haven't posted about the car in awhile. I've got everything working to get the State Inspection Sticker. I changed out the front tires which were 195/70R14 to a 235/70R15. I prefer that look, makes the car look a little stouter, plus they are able to handle the weight of the big block. I have decided to upgrade from the carburetor to a fuel injection system. I guess I need more punishment, lol

Nice! How does it drive? If it's like my BB Aspen, it likes going straight more than going around curves.

For a car with a lot of weight up front, it doesn't corner bad at all. The steering is very responsive, and with the 11" drum brakes in the rear, it stops very well.

Great project.... your on it!

My stock HEAVY 440 mag in a F was as nimble as any I ever drove.... nothing like the BB Dart I had long ago.

There is someone on youtube or one of the mags that did a item on lightening the big block. With aluminum heads, intake and dist they managed to get a 440 with in 50 lbs of a 360.

So it is possible to have the BB change the weight very little.

(Of course trying to find aluminum heads at the moment is a little tough.)

I got them next day from Summitt And yes holy wow! I went from a stock headed 440 to a Aluminum headed 505 stroker and did I ever have to turn down the torsion bars large! To be frank I had a 72 Challenger and a 68 dart this car is way more predictable and stable. I believe that it is the transverse torsion bars.

Yes, I had to play around with my torsion bars. Had to keep reminding my self that the torsion bar adjuster on the left side adjusts the right side ride height and vice versa. I got the car close, then measured the amount of threads on both sides and made them the same. The car seems to sit pretty level left to right.

I've always been considering aluminum heads and, it may just happen. Originally I was going to during the build of the car but the old budget thing had other ideas at the time. The ones on there now are '63 413 closed chamber heads with 440 valve sizes, throats opened up, guides tapered, port matched, etc, etc, etc. Not sure what they weigh other than it's a heck of a lot.
