BudW water pump pulleys

BudW, if I understood correctly it would be a safe bet that a 318 water pump from a 1981 or later M body should have the bigger bearings and they were all AC?

Rockauto for a 1985 Dodge Diplomat show a Hi performance water pump for $50 AIRTEX AW7103H. It has 6 blades and an anti-cavitation plate. I will probably run with this and the smaller pulley.

This was a much deeper rabbit hole then I expected! LOL

I have somewhere around here that 3751126 pulley. I have no idea what I pulled it off of though.

For long term use or for driving hard (like I like to do), I would HIGHLY recommend the newer pump with larger bearings. That said, one can't discount the blade count differences.

After '82ish (not sure of the cutoff), all of the non-A/C cars used the same pulleys and brackets - but have an idler pulley mounted where the A/C compressor is at (on non-A/C cars).

You'd think they would have either used different water pumps or different pulleys but not both.
I've never had non a.c. M but do have non a.c. In my Lil red express.
I also have 82,84,85 m's to compare parts on as well as a 79 a.c. 360 in my 88 and the parts from the 88 318. This is almost getting me curious to check.
