The cosmetics on this car are simply terrible. The execution of a car like this is as a sleeper. Totally stock appearing but carrying a huge stick. All the bolt/ stick on spoiler and hood scoop garbage would have to go. A Plymouth R/T? Ugh.

Quite possible that it was. It does have a lot of "LOOK AT ME!!" stuff tacked on. No accounting for taste. There are some FMJ's here that I don't particularly care for, and I am sure that some members don't care for OY. So what? Differences keep things interesting. The price is unrealistic too, suggesting someone has not done their homework. But, at least it does look like somebody cared about it and tried to make it what they wanted. Unlike this rusting abandoned ex-cop Dodge below that somebody wants a whopping $8000 for on EB!!!! This person clearly wants something for nothing, and doesn't give a crap.

I can't help but wonder where and why they come up the figures. The Volare looks to be just a car with stuff put on and ìn it with no rhyme nor reason. The big block doesn't look all that special with iron manifolds halfassed paint with improvements listed as very "shiny" motor. What it doesn't say is built, rebuild, drivable, runs, runs good etc..

Lol! Well, everyone knows that shiny engines run better than dull ones, just like plaid interiors are more comfortable than solid color ones (I should know lol! ). The ad really does sound like it's some kids pride and joy that he hopes is worth as much as he thinks. Actually, it would look good if you would take off the huge stickers, incorrect emblems, ridiculous spoiler, and find another crack free dash pad like the one that was ruined by bolting a huge tach through it. Oh well, somebody will like it. At least it isn't trashed.

I wasn't going to say anything but I agree with you guys. The wing, the JC Whitney tape on hood scoops, the 440 decals, Volare "R/T", etc.............No thank you. On the other hand, my opinion is build the car how YOU want it. If others like it, fine. If they don't like it, that's fine too. The $9,000 price tag is way out in left field for a car in that condition. What I do wonder is, what's the workmanship like on the BB swap, did they change to an 8 3/4" rear, is the engine built, rebuilt or an untouched 150K mile junkyard find. With the way the rest of the car looks, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole car isn't cobbled.

BTW, starting bid of $8,000 for that rotted out '74 that's sunk up to the frame in the weeds and mud? Cam you imagine what the underside looks like, if it still exists that is? Put down the crack pipe please.

Without a title what can you do with it besides part it out? Some of these pie in the sky listings I think come from attempting to satisfy an unhappy wife. Put a figure nobody will ever call on and it stays with the owner. We should all hope he gets the money in one respect but its pretty nice to pick up clean FMJs for a weeks paycheck.

That is true. I wish the seller well as it is clear that he did put effort and interest in the Volare, but I think he will be disappointed if he expects near that price. On the other hand, it is VERY nice that FMJ's are still "affordable" and there are still some parts cars lurking out there.

Yep. For some reason, that ad really annoyed me. Have to wonder if they are serious. You should take a look at the ad and see the other two poor wrecks that the seller wants you to call him to get the price!! Idiotic.

Im thinking now that Ive seen the whole picture with the fresh fence surrounding the lot that zone enforcement was probably called. In new England you cant have unregistered cars outdoors for long. Specially once your neighbors object.

I"m wondering if that motor isn't really a 383 or 400. I know for a fact that a stock power brake booster won't fit with a tall deck block.

It's like that here. You can't have an unregistered car sitting in view for more than 30 days. As long as it's in a garage or fenced in, it's fine. If you buy a car for parts, you have 30 days to get what you want and have the remains hauled away. Beyond that, it's only if someone calls and complains about it.

Untitled cars can get a new title without too much trouble. You have a Police officer come and verify the VIN and then the VIN is run to see if it was ever reported stolen or has a lien on it. If it's all clean, the new title is issued. At least it's like that in this state (WI).

Those 3 cop cars look to be worth about $300,,,,,,,,,,,combined, and that's being very generous. Badly rotted out cars that look to have been sitting in the weeds for at least 20 years, what good are they anymore? The undersides are probably totally gone. Plus, they're 4 doors which have very little demand to begin with. In any case, the listing is "no longer available".
