Diplomat wagon

I don't know how many were made, all I can say is I don't remember seeing a whole lot of them back when they were around, compared with 2 and 4 doors, especially the 4 door sedan.

I don’t know about total numbers of M-body wagons, but not that many were made. F-body wagons were a small fraction/percentage of the 2 or 4-door F’s that were made and the M-body was even a smaller fraction/percentage.

Can’t wait to see the pictures.

I can vividly remember F-body wagons everywhere (they seemed to be very popular around here) back in the late '70's to mid '80's while M-body wagon not very often, or ever, if I have to be honest.

If the ride is in good-enough shape consider yourself very lucky!

I have been looking for a decent one for a very long time now...the closest I've ever come to finding one was about 6 hrs away from me and when I did get to see it (we were actually passing by on a family vacation trip - my wife seriously doubted it was by "accident") the car was in a much worse shape than the asking price would indicate it should be.

That was about 4 yrs ago and had a $2500 asking price!

This one seems really solid and he said it was, has one dent in a quarter and needs a tranny but has one to go with it. Hasnt been on the road in ten years. I paid 1200

i've only even seen one irl. they're very rare in the states but seem to be more common in Mexico as the Dodge Dart.

The venerable F body wagon. ;)

This tread reminded me of a thread I posted back in '16.
The perfect F wagon is finally coming of age
I have thought for years that the F body, particularly the wagons, were one of the most attractively styled cars of the 70's. This opinion also extends to the M body wagons, particulary the earliest ones from '78 & '79, although I believe the later ones from the early '80's are much more rare.
I still remember a former coworker who bought a new '78 Diplomat wagon, white with woodgrain and loaded with options. It was beautiful and I have never forgotten it, although I am sure that it is long gone by now.

So, '81 Dippy, I think you have made a great find and now have a very rare opportunity to own a car that likely will be the only one at any shows that you may take it to. I can't remember the last time that I saw an '81 wagon - but it has been decades! This one was for sale on FMF back in 2015. Beautiful!
1981 Dodge Diplomat wagon - $5200 (not mine)
Enjoy your new Diplomat and POST PICS! :D

Must be cornering lights. I admit, I have never seen those on an M before.
