Started mocking up my S&W roll bar kit for my '80 Aspen. After tacking in the main hoop, I was looking at where to place the 2 rear bars. Saw 2 F body mustangs that ended where the shocks and 4 links are located.I was going to run then from the hoop to where the truck floor above the rear shackle. Any thoughts? Its about 76" from hope to trunk floor.

Above the rear shackle is exactly the placement of the rear bar. That's where the Mopar chassis book recommends that placement.

Rear bars like to be above upper rear shock mounts.
That is optimum.
Not always practical , but that is where they are most beneficial.
I am assuming you mean rear bars , and not the diagonals that go to the floor or sub frame connector in a more or less straight line with the main hoop base.
