Fbody fenders rust so fast you can't even get them out of the mold and they're rust'n.
I don't know how much less a glass door would be but I removed the crash bars and undercoat then attacked the doors with 2 1/2" hole saw under the trim pads.. In total I saved about 30 pounds from each door.I would probably consider trading a steel hood for a six pack. I get Way More than $50 for them and only have two left.
That same sticker is on my Fiberglass fenders. Gel coated in white, also never used. I traded a single steel driver side for them. But they look nice and will go with my bumpers. Couldn't have been for recall use, as every dealership in the rust belt had tons of them in stock. They were all scamming the company by getting customers to sign that a recall action had been performed when it hadn't. I bought out several dealers stocks 20 yrs ago or so. Always made me wonder how many customers signed on for something they didn't even know about. You can't go to a swap meet yet today without seeing those red oxide fenders even if there are no other F parts there.
So out of curiosity. How much weight does a glass door really save? I'm looking to put one of my Super Coupes on a serious no-crashing diet for SCCA.
