We swapped the carb on Gator's 78:
from the outside view:
Billy -- that was so thoughtful of you to remove that pesky rearview mirror so we could see the road. lol Seriously, I wish I had someone around that enjoyed these cars like you two...
Round here, its cattlemen interested in livestock and horses, ranchers interested in atvs and baling or cultivators, and mostly everyone else is interested in tractors/trailers or trucks too tall to step into.
The southern end of New Jersey is completely devoid of armchair quarterbacks, golfcourse goons, and manbunns. We are just up to our eyeballs in good clean enjoyment of wrench'n, drive'n, and junk'n. Not too many folks want to hang out with us, but we welcome anyone. So if you ever make it to Delaware, Philadelphia or Southern Jersey, we'll probably look forward to hanging with you. Might be 2 hours working a panel and listening to tunes and b s ing, but true fun
That thing need more gear and converter, more converter for sure.
When you say more, you mean higher stall RPM?
If my slant could only do that!!!!! That is what it is all about, drive em and enjoy em!!!! That will be a nice movie for you guys this winter when it snows!
Here in SE Texas, the weather is now perfect! I am a Missouri pilgrim, the locals think a high of 55 is terrible!!!! ha
I'm a native Texan.
A high of 55 is terrible AND miserable.
But thank goodness cold weather only lasts about a month.
Winter is something best left north of the red river.
I have no clue how those guys in Canadian Land do it.
They leave there ice cube trays outside.
Got down to 32 last night. There was frost on the lawn this morning.
One things about SE Tx I do not need a heater in my cars!!!!
Great memory I have of my dad.
He always drove a Chevy truck and one of the last ones he bought and drove for years before he died had heated seats. Rarely used the heater for the truck, often just hit that button and got that nice warm on his back which was arthritic and it just felt good.
Fast forward about 5 years and he decides to upgrade to another truck. Offers me the 2000 Chevy. Course its got a wonky bumper and busted rear light lens, few scratches, but I just need a farm truck and, of course, it was my dad's so I immediately said yes.
He gets himself another Chevy. About 6 months later, its a colder morning and he calls me from the truck, complaining. There are no heated seats, he's having to use the heater and its blowing cold air until it finally warms up.. but he gets used to it.
And, every single morning when it was colder I would go to the old Chevy and hit that button... nice warm seat and my back feels good. I pull out my phone and call my dad. The conversation starts with what are we doing for the day and its cold outside.
I ALWAYS said 'Hey Dad... I've got this button and when I push it, the seats warm up. Sure makes my back feel good and I get warmed up quick.'
I can still hear my Dad say 'You are such a SmartAss.. I don't want to hear about that damn button and how good your back feels. I'm sitting here freezing.'
'You know Dad, you should really look into having one of these put in that fancy truck you drive'
Then he'd make some disparaging remark about my lumpy, scratched up truck.
Followed by "I should never have given up that truck. That was the best truck I ever bought. You remember that you have to offer it to me first before you sell to anyone.'
Justwondering...Most of what life is about is memories!!!!!
My little corner here doesn't get hurricanes, earthquakes, giant tornados or giant hail, floods, wild fires, mudslides, and any other wild stuff.
I get winter and summer thunderstorms, which are generally entertaining.
Your corner sounds like a safe place.
My corner is much less predictable. But its all about the journey, not the destination.
At least thats what I tell myself when the thunder rolls, the house shakes, the wind blows, and the hail falls.
Right down to I'm on the highest side of the sanitary and storm drain and 'it' rolls downhill, plus I have a fire hydrant on the front lawn.
And little corner doesn't have a bug problem or bad snakes.
Just the odd polar bear.
Hey our barn cats kills snakes, they got a coral snake this summer, and on my way to the barn, one had a copperhead "pointed". Bout stepped on it, thought it was a tree root! lol
If a BIG tornado comes, I will bend over and kiss my ass goodbye!!!!
I haven't had one in almost 2 yrs in the F/A.
Weight savings, LOL.
I think that is Gator's reasoning for not having it?
