Great memory I have of my dad.
He always drove a Chevy truck and one of the last ones he bought and drove for years before he died had heated seats. Rarely used the heater for the truck, often just hit that button and got that nice warm on his back which was arthritic and it just felt good.
Fast forward about 5 years and he decides to upgrade to another truck. Offers me the 2000 Chevy. Course its got a wonky bumper and busted rear light lens, few scratches, but I just need a farm truck and, of course, it was my dad's so I immediately said yes.
He gets himself another Chevy. About 6 months later, its a colder morning and he calls me from the truck, complaining. There are no heated seats, he's having to use the heater and its blowing cold air until it finally warms up.. but he gets used to it.
And, every single morning when it was colder I would go to the old Chevy and hit that button... nice warm seat and my back feels good. I pull out my phone and call my dad. The conversation starts with what are we doing for the day and its cold outside.
I ALWAYS said 'Hey Dad... I've got this button and when I push it, the seats warm up. Sure makes my back feel good and I get warmed up quick.'
I can still hear my Dad say 'You are such a SmartAss.. I don't want to hear about that damn button and how good your back feels. I'm sitting here freezing.'
'You know Dad, you should really look into having one of these put in that fancy truck you drive'
Then he'd make some disparaging remark about my lumpy, scratched up truck.
Followed by "I should never have given up that truck. That was the best truck I ever bought. You remember that you have to offer it to me first before you sell to anyone.'
Delicious.
