My backup plan is to just buy some new dishes and wait a little longer for a car to come up for sale.

The second car is an interesting car. It has the 400 4-bbl but not high performance. It also has a non-catalyst sticker on door jamb – so there something about this car I can't put my finger on (which is good, not bad). It also has the options you want (buckets, console, etc.). Its not green, but might be harder to find a car closer maybe.

The first green car looks like a two-tone green which looks nice when waxed and shiny.

Um, no comment on the dishes (hehe).

If you are considering looking at the Silver one, give me a holler first (sense it will be you? looking at car, and not someone here).

Silver car is 500 miles away so I was going to have my cousin or a friend of a friend look at it.
I doubt I can leave my husband for a trip that long. I'd probably do a layover about halfway each direction so I'm not driving 10 hours each day. Turns it into a 4 day trip which is too many days away for me doing caregiving.

May have to have it trailered.

I noticed that the original green car that started this quest is still on Hemmings but has had a price drop.

Do you want me to call you or do you want to post on the thread?

The green car in michigan on Facebook Marketplace has a locked up 400 engine and is a column shift car. Does look immaculate though. He wans 5k

The gray car in Del Rio, Texas (lol which is nearly as far as Center Line Michigan) has flat tires, but the guy lost the key to it. Says he's going to see if it will turn over, just not start it. (Oh Lord) He wants 4.5k and he said he'd negotiate on the price.

Eitherway I have to have it transported.

Two dead cars ... my husband is gonna laugh his a$$ off on my efforts...lol

A Locked-up engine for 5k – sigh.

There happens to be several good big blocks in my garage to play with . . .

Edit: I don’t need a key to start the engine on that car. Can’t drive off in it though.

I’ll have a large pizza of your choice delivered to your house and give you naming rights to my first born for a big block; it’s a fair deal, take it lol
But seriously, you ever feel like unloading a big block, send me a message

Apparently - my soul wants a floor shift car.
While I lust for the green cordoba, I really would rather have the floor shift.

Why can't I have everything I want in one car??

You can paint the silver car green since it has the white seats it would look fine.

I just asked the guy if he could get the car any closer to dfw than del rio.... its currently a little more than 10 hours one-way from me.

My cousin in san antonio just laughed and said 'well no I don't want to drive to del rio'

My mexican buddy doesn't have friends at that part of the border -- much further south and I could have gotten his friends to help me

We'll see what the guy says. I'm pretty sure he's not gonna have a lot of takers in Del Rio.

The Del Rio Guy has every reason in the book about not responding, family problems, he's not the owner just helping out, no title, no key, dead tires, etc.

Found a pretty blue one with column shift in washington
1976 Chrysler Cordoba - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle...

Since it has the center console but a 360 instead of 400, I could drive it up to Oklahoma and visit Bud while he sits on his chair and tells me how to convert it to a floor shift. Just unscrew the column shifter and be done with it. Pretty car and its in better shape it appears.

I was considering a Canandian car with a 400 and a moonroof with floor shift; however, getting it looked at and across the border will run the price up I'm sure.

This is so funny.... I have tears in my eyes.

Been showing pictures of these cars to hubby for 2 years now.
Today (2 years later), he patiently looks at these pictures today of this batch of cars I've got to show him.
With a completely straight face he looks at me and says .....
'Do you realize that car is all hood?'
waits a second, then says
'Its only got 2 doors. Do you realize it only has 2 doors?'

Pray tell, what has he been doing for 2 years when I show him these pictures of other cars? lol this is too funny.
Yes dear.. pretty car... yes dear ... yes I looked at it .... what ever you want to do dear ... ha ha ha

I looked at him and said
Only two of us so we only need 1 door each.
waited a second and added
'Large engine bay makes it easier for me to kill rats that get under there.'

You should have seen the look he gave me.

I had an opportunity to look at this car when it was for sale in Centrallia between Seattle and Portland. It is a very clean car overall and ran very good. Drivers door panel could use a small bit of repair/cleaning or possibly re-colouring. Also important to note console and bucket seats are added on, shifter is not on the floor it is column shift.
