Just when I said the truck trans is cast iron,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this shows up on the local CL. Aluminum A833 out of a '79 Dodge truck so maybe some weren't iron.
It doesn't say it's an O/D but I would assume it is(?)

Well it's gone, but for what its worth, everything is more expensive than it was. Fewer desirable parts are on the market. I have an iron case OD from a truck with the longer housing and an aluminum cased OD with the short A/F housing and an 18 spline iron case with a short tail housing I was told came out of a '68 Hemi Dart. I think $350 is a good buy if you want an OD trans. They're bomb-proof. I wouldn't be too concerned about condition. They're built so superior to everything else, you really cant hurt them. And parts are very cheap if it needs rebuilt.
