Question (and this doesn’t have to be answered). With 707 horsepower (at rear wheels), why would you need more power – except to shorten the tire(s) lifespan?

Yeah, as KK said, it's 707 HP at the crank
I'm not gonna do an AJ mathematical post but....
At 3800 pounds Race weight;
707HP will only net a 10.2 1/4 mile
1000HP will 9.00, knocking on the 8's
630HP gave me my 10.6 time slip
I never had great tire lifespan, like 7Up... Never had it, never will.

Oops! lol. I swear by dedicated winter tires (like Bridgestone Blizzak or Firestone Winterforce for example). I wouldn't drive in the snow with out them. Like a night and day difference, especially on a 2 wheel drive Dakota. My opinion, "all season" should be called "three season" (spring, summer, fall).

So true.
Around here, is more like 50 week'rs (for we only have snow or ice about 2 weeks out of the year).

That said, bitter cold and strong winds are common here, in the winter months.
