    Seen this for a while.
I dunno if the owner knows, but it's a certified by Chrysler-one of one.
    Sunroof and console.
There were 2 T top Lebarons in the sports trim that yr.

He bought the car, then found out under the back seat was spray foam instead of steel.
So he set out welding it back together, and here it sits.

This could be a top money car in the future.

His asking price should indicate whether he knows its potential. Unique to say the least. He does sound proud of it. But he never mentions how unique it is. Never mentioned T-tops. Daddy always says they don't give a price when they're embarrassed. But if it has to go.... All them numbers and receipts he used wont amount to a hill of beans if your standing there with cash. It does indicate to me he will ask $5,000. We should start a pool

He really doesn't give a price.
How much he paid and how much in parts.

I'd ask, but I already have cars here that I can work on.

I live in Winnipeg. I’d look at this but of course I’m out of town for work right now. Home May 28. I’ve seen this car on Kijiji a few times.

It's a one of one sunroof car, not a one of two T-top.

I like the Caravelle better! Very good looking car. I want that steering wheel.

Or if I wanted to modify a 80 M 2dr, there's this, just adjust for taste.

There's the money problem with the Winterpeg M.
I can drive away those two for @$5000 ea.

If I had lotto money, different story.
I'd have the Lebaron sent to a resto shop.

Ah, I like this better. Right year, right colors, just replace wheels with factory (all five of them) and lose the shackles and there ya go... Nice.

There lies the problem with the Winterpeg car.
There's better places to toss 5K at.

Rare M doesn't mean money at this time.

This is a 'mule' sent to Hurst for T tops/evaluation before Cars and Concepts got the supplier job.
    Low VIN# GP22G7G200115

Didn't go for $5k first time then never made 4k second time.

To me, the one in the OP looks like a 5000 dollar parts car.

Rare is cool and makes for fun conversation, but it doesn't always mean valuable.

2-5 grand will net you a pretty good-to-great driver quality car which, imo, is worth a whole lot more than a one of one with a plastic console and a rusty hole in the roof.

Apparently my car is rare enough to have Chrysler Historic call me at work at 7am on a Friday.
One of one or one of none.

    Well... that's pretty cool.
Forgive my ignorance for I am a newb, but... was this recently, or a well-known tale here at FMJBO? What makes it rare? Is there a thread on it already or is this something that just happened?

Lot's to explain, as it doesn't just point to just one option and then the unknowns from Chrysler.
Sept 2001 was when Chrysler Historic called.

To start, that color was cut 6 months before the car was built in both the Canadian and American later brochures....and the color keyed seat belts.
Lots of oddities, lots options not listed on the data plate.

Then comes suggestions that it either was a 1978 rebadged as a 79 from the factory or it was a promotion car, hence all the touchy/feely options, but not a salon/sport or Medallion.
Maybe from the Dallas autoshow, but no pics to back it up.

That's interesting. I wouldn't have even thought the mothership was interested in that sort of thing.
Looks like you have a great car with a story.

I fell in love with the color, but it wasn't love at first sight.
I face palmed at the triple green, because I came from a era with LOTS of triple green Mopars.

It was weird and eye opening to have Chrysler Historic call me at work over a 1979 Lebaron.
