I don't play an instrument, can't carry a tune in a bucket. But I do love music... Everything from Hank Williams and The Carter Family to Silversun Pickups. Also enjoy old Motown and the RnB/soul music of the early '70's (The O'Jay's For the Love of Money has a bass line to die for). Good music is good for the soul. :icon_thumright:

It is good for the soul.
And one thing I've learned is, there's only two types of music
Good and bad.
Seems to be a lot of bad lately
And bad music is bad for the soul.

Here's one of my vintage babies.
My 1954 Telefunken "Kuba"
All markings are in german and at the time,
FM radio only went up to 100! No 104.5 or the likes.
Surround mono!!
Two speakers in front and two in the sides.
Solid wood.
Weighs close to two hundred pounds
It's like moving a bloody piano.

Very cool.
Awesome to see them stamping vinyl.
I'm buddy's with one of the mastering engineers at a place up here called Lacquer Channel..they had one of the original Neumann cutting lathes for years and they got rid of it.
They don't even do vinyl anymore.

Ok, Heres my deal on music. Here in Salina, the radio stations SUCK, and thats putting it lightly. You have your choice of kuntry (which I don't like) or classic rock. The classic rock stations play the SAME friggen music over, and over, drives me crazy. The only time I listen to local radio is when we have tornados heading towards us.

Anymore all I listen to is Sirius satellite radio. Even at work I'm lucky to be able to listen to it. I do take it easy on the others and listen to Octane (new hard rock) and when I get in my truck its Liquid Metal.

I know most of you won't agree with my taste in tunes (77kickinaspen might :headbang: )........but here is my picks

Lol!!!
I played in a over the top..lets call it "heavy rock" band called Sister Saigon.
I could write a book on that band.

Whatever floats your boat...
Like I said, only two kinds of music..
Good and bad.
I do listen to a fair bit of country too. :icon_jook:

Very sweet unit!
I used to have various suitcase models.
A couple of Seabreeze and a couple of Collaro's.
I donated them to friends to make way for more.
I have a pretty choking collection if vintage gear.
When I'm having beer's later tonight I'll post some pics.
That Motorola is truly sweet.

My Dad's aunt who gave me (sold me) her 76 Volare Coupe had this in the trunk. It belonged to her sister (my Dad's other aunt). I admit, I was at an age where fire and matches were the thing, so this relic survived my antics..... I must have run out of gas or matches- just kidding

Complete with hideaway turntable.
It took me months of looking to find a cartridge and needle
I found "one" as in only one in Holland
Cost me $150, more than worth it.

I have more than a few table top radios.
This one's a sweetie.
Mid sixties Telefunken.
Great sounding little unit.
