Anybody in the Idaho/Montana/South Dakota area? I’m gonna be passing through there and I wanna know if I’m gonna have to stick snow chains on my truck or not.

Yuck ...
Was 68 today, 70 yesterday, 65 day before.
Christmas eve and Christmas highs are 54 then back to the mid sixties.

New years -- 43

I've enjoyed this week--weatherwise at least.

Trying to look on the bright side, at least we'll end up with a more or less white Christmas. Got about 1/2-3/4" last night that covered up most of the ground but, it is soooooooooo cold out there, about -8 right now. Wouldn't be AS bad if it weren't for the north wind. Can you say BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR? Sure, I knew you could:D
Always a shock to the system when the temp is 40+ degree colder than it was 24 hours prior. :( Yesterday it started at 35, and got up to 44 with a little rain in the afternoon.

Ummmmmmmmmm, yeah.:(

What it doesn't show is the sleet and freezing rain arriving around 3am Thursday, then the 6-8" of heavy wet snow on top of that during the day (to and from work should be just a dream drive), AND 30-40 mph wind. This weekend, windchill -30 to -50. Could it get any better? lol

One place I won't be this weekend is outdoors.

February M body winter beater update:

89 5th Ave-Replaced rusted out brake line between proportioning valve and diff. Replaced Plate on leaf springs that mount the shock when I found mine had snapped off and the shock was dangling.

84 Diplomat- needs muffler and front rotors and calipers/ pads (seized), block heater died.

-40 C with wind chill both still start right up.

We're going to have highs between -10 and +5 (F) and lows of -20 to -25 for at least the next week, and possibly a few days beyond that. Not impressed even one tiny little bit. :( At least there's no snow in the forecast,,,,,,,,,,,it's too cold to snow. Worst part is, all the ice and packed snow on the roads is going to be there for some time yet. Salt doesn't do anything when it's this cold and the sun only gives light. Somehow the sun's radiant heat is being blocked. Probably the Democrat's doing.

Yep, stupid polar vortex............... I was one of the few people dumb enough to go out this morning (fridge was getting a little bare) and, on the way to the grocery store, 3 different signs showed -26(F). Cold doesn't even begin to describe it. For today the average low is +8 and average high is +28 and man does that sound nice right about now! The 14 day forecast has the warmest high at +10 so there's at LEAST two more weeks of hell to get through.:(

Last Thursday it was +34. Ahh the memories.

And I was complaining because it didn't get to 50 F today like they said ... only 47F.

Course we are supposed to have 4 days of really cold weather (high in mid 30F and low in 20F).

Too dang cold to be out chainsawing cedars or too windy if the day is warm enough.Bleh.
None of this compares to what you folks are going through. Bummer.

Wind chill has been around -20 all day, I think the high was +2°. But really cant complain because this has been a very mild winter till now.

Your polar vortex seems to have decided to stay further north. So the 4 days of really cold is down to 2 day of really cold -- that is high of 34 and 33.

One thing this cold weather shows is, those who maintain their vehicles and those who don't. Those that do, drive to the shop. Those that don't come in on the back of a flatbed tow truck, lol.

"Warmest" it got today was -6 under perfectly clear, sunny skies. At least it's a dry cold. You know, without that north west breeze, it would be unbearable out.:D

Then you have the idiots that wanna still go faster than the speed limit in the snow, while blowing their horn at trucks that they think are going too slow for them. Those ones should go on the flatbed.

I'm finally back to where it's above 0*F in Illinois. I'll be able to tell y'all the weather in Tennessee tomorrow night.
