Got our first rain in over 3 weeks last night. Don't think it amounted to more than 1/8" though. Today it's a miserable sticky s.o.b. Not even noon and 83 degrees already with 79% humidity. Naturally on a day like this the wind speed is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,zero.

We had one of those "oh-oh, here it comes" moments a couple hours ago. Pitch black coming from the west, then it split and went right around the area I live in. Guess it was a huge t-storm on the north side of the city and a couple miles south the same thing before it joined back up and hit the whole east side. Totally missed Rib Mountain. On the news they said an estimated 20,000 customers are without power on the north and northeast sides along with Weston on the lower east side, from the storm. This happens all the time. I don't know if it's the terrain that does that or what. It may storm all day down in Kronenwetter with thunder, lightning, heavy rain, hail but 4 or 5 miles north in Rib Mt. it'll be a bright sunny day with not a drop of rain and 3 or 4 miles north in Wausau will be the bad t-storm all day deal. Weird.

It was pretty Fisher Price after all. Rained like armageddon for about 10 minute including hail and then light rain. I suspect they got a royal ass whooping just east of us though.

Mind you things look to get interesting around 11:00 tonight.

It does the same thing here, there'll be a GIANT storm over Lake Michigan, then it'll split when it hits the beach and go just north and south of us

Same happens in Calgary, summer and winter. In our case, it seems to be due more to elevation; Calgary is 1000 meters/3000 feet above sea level, although the terrain around here has a lot of elevation changes due to the proximity to the Rockies.

Finally,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,after days of wind that wouldn't quit (and it was getting REALLY irritating), dead calm today. I mean not even 1 mph. Partly sunny, very low humidity (think it's about 25%) and a high of 78. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

After almost a month without a drop of rain, it rained. Started around 7:00am and didn't let up until just after lunch time. Came down heavy the whole time. Heard it came to anywhere from 2-4" depending on where you were in the area. Not real warm either, never made it out of the 60's :(

However,,,,,,,,,the forecast for the next 7 days shows little to no chance of rain and high 70's/low 80's (!!!!!!) Awesome since I took another week of vacation from work next week again.

Nice deal!
Other than the nauseating task of driving the wife's Scamry to get new tires for her tomorrow. It's looking like perfect weather for an all Plymouth weekend. :glasses9:

Dark overcast, damp, off and on mist and 62 degrees right now (9:30am) Not a nice day August day at all...................One of those days where you find it impossible to get going and not just lay on the sofa watching TV.

Figures, this is the rain date for the Hot Rods and Harley's show down at the Harley dealership for the one that was a complete washout last month.

Still heavy overcast and damp. Not raining but almost,,,,,,,,,97% humidity right now and a sweltering 63 degrees. Not real nice at all.

Should be decent the rest of the week though. I took another weeks vacation from work so it BETTER be nice! lol

Heh-heh, what a perfectly ordinary average day (weather wise). Mostly clear, light breeze of 3-5 mph and low humidity (it's 26% right now). The low this morning was 59 and the high this afternoon was 78. Average low and high for this date? 59 and 78. Hit it dead nuts on the mark, lol!

It's almost slightly fall-ish here.
Overall this summer has been very nice.
Only one heatwave. The rest has been a perfect balance of sun and rain and generally perfect temps.
