So my brother lives high up on the side of a mesa in Santa Fe.
Its freaking warmer there this winter than it is at my house in North Texas.
We are 14 to 25 degrees cooler than normal each day this week.
Precipitation, freezing temps for 3 days...
What the hey -- its the end of February. My prime tree cutting, fence mending, car repair season and I'm stuck inside trying to stay warm and keep the water lines from freezing.

Fun Fact: The Fahrenheit scale and Celsius scale converge at -40 degrees.
Had to look it up when the weather folks reported Bismarck was at -39 F just now.

Was 77 today ... awesome.
However, in the category of no good deed goes unpunished...
Water pump burnt up during the freeze.
So I spent most of the day driving places getting fittings and a new pump.
Came home.
Changed out all 3 filters,
removed the old pump
set up the venturi on the new pump and the adapter as well
Went to install it and dayummmm .... I bought the only union connector they had at the hardware store west of me and it was the wrong type -- slip / not screw ends
So manana, I drive east to the next closest hardware store and see if I can get a replacement union that has screw ends for a 2 inch pipe.
Should have running water again by end of day wednesday.
Is abo-so-lute-ly awesome to be working in shortsleeves with the sun shining!
