Do you put the car on jackstands to keep the springs from sagging and tires from flatspotting too? Just wondered cause that is how I have my Pacer put up...Well boys and girls, I guess it's time for the car to go away for the winter. Noticed this morning they had sprayed that treatment stuff on all the freeway bridges, overpasses, fly over ramps, etc. Also did the underpasses and overpasses at the interchanges. So now I'm blocked in and can't go anywhere except up and down the frontage road. Even my alternate route over the freeway on Foxglove Road at the end of the frontage road was sprayed. It's heavily shaded and really steep over Mosinee Hill. Goes from about 1,100 feet up to 1,700 and back to 1,100 feet again in barely a mile. STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! Probably why they did that road. Big question is WHY they sprayed anything at all? When it rained a couple days ago it was well above freezing. Yesterday was above freezing (barely) but it was dry. the weekend is forecast to be totally clear, sunny and low 50's. What did they expect to melt??????? Freaking DOT.......................................
Suppose, dump the Stabil in the tank, make a couple runs up and down the frontage road to get it all mixed in and into the carb and probably should make sure there's no dead rubber on the rear tires,,,,,,park it in it's winter position out in the garage. It's a sad day in Aspenland.

Well I didn't get the Caravelle or the Volare out because it actually started to snow here. But I did hit the highway in the Fifth for a nice relaxing leisurely drive.

I don't put it on stands, except of course when I'm going to be working underneath. Never had a problem. I figure if the car wasn't stored for the winter, it would be on the tires (spring sag). Flat spotting doesn't really happen on radials. If it does, the spots go away after a couple miles of driving when the new season starts. Same reason I tend to not put the cover on either, unless I'm going to be doing any painting or something in the garage. More chance of paint scratches taking the cover off everytime I go out to work on the car than just leaving it exposed. Dust? Well, that's what California Car Dusters are for.
Now,,,,,,,,,,if I was just storing it for the winter and not going to be doing any work on it, I'd probably set it on stands. How's that for a wishy-washy answer? lol
