Upgrades

That looks AWESOME! Get that out into the sunlight for the photo!

What size did you end going with?

I'll have to try tomorrow it was cloudy today. The exact size you recommend. Looks like a different car with out the grandpaw wire hub caps lol

Finally having time to clean it up today. What do y'all use to get the trim back shiny

I haven't made it to the junk yard that I got my rocker panel trim to see how good the front is on that one. But if it's bad and I find one how easy is it to trade a diplomat or furry front clip?

Looks like whole front clip messed up or can it be straightened out and just the grille can be replaced. Its far easier to just repair the grille. Hard to tell if the whole clip is just bent, or if it has to be all replaced.

The hardest part is separating the 3 nuts off the 3 studs on each side that hold the header to the fenders.

After that it's easy. The "new" one probably won't line up as well as the old one and you'll have to fidget with adjusting it until you either are happy or say fuck it.

The studs will probably break out of the fiberglass header. I recommend JB Water Weld to epoxy them back in for the reinstall

Does anyone know of a video that shows how to take off the grill and surrounding parts ? And don't yell at me but has anyone put a period correct spoiler on a fifth?

Videos for stuff like that on older cars is being lazy. Nothing is hidden. There are nuts that hold the parts on from behind. If it's a 5th Avenue you also need to remove the hood ornament. Same thing there's a big nut on the under side of it.

I kinda figured I just didn't want any surprises

For some reason, this site is loading pictures side ways.

You need to remove the nuts off the studs that hold the header panel to the fenders. You need to removed the bolts that hold the header panel to the radiator support. You'll have to disconnect the headlights too.

It should come off as one big piece with the bumper fillers attached

Thanks. I should start tearing it down today or tomorrow
The 3 studs on each side that hold the header panel to the fenders are probably going to break or strip out the threaded holes in the fiberglass header.

It's not a big deal, you can always use a good epoxy to fix the holes and hold the studs in when you reassemble. I used JB Waterweld. If it's good enough for boats it's good enough for a car.
