My last time at the track and I had too much bounce after the launch. Friend of mine told me Viking is making shocks for us F-Body owners. Gonna cost a few $$$ but what choice do I have

I'm running the double adjustables on all four corners on my car. Pricey at $250 a shock, but it they are absolutely worth it.

Cost for me is $330 a shock for being Canadian but it will be nice to have something up front that actually works

Duke5A,

How long is the aluminum body on your front shocks and was it a no-mod bolt-in? (I'll have to check mine. It's been a while.)

I had some made several years ago which were modified from their Mustang II application. That was their shortest shock body available.
But I had to do a bit of shock shimming and limiting on the suspension travel to keep them from topping or bottoming out at full travel. Even with that, I'm not sure how long it would last with racing wear & tear.

I'm not sure on the length, but they have an active part number in the catalog for Diplomat fronts. Those are what I ordered and they slid right in. No shimming are anything of the sort. I am running Firm Feel tubular upper A arms, so this isn't a direct apples-to-apples comparison. If you can wait until this weekend I can try and measure the body for you. Car is in my Dad's barn for the winter.

Can I pick your brain? I wondering why you went with double adjustable shocks?

Tunability. I'm just a couple of clicks from perfect handling street shocks to full on drag shocks. I've made three adjustments getting it to where I like the handling/comfort compromise too.

Are there any part #'s you can provide us on the Viking's?

Are the Rears for use with the IsoClamp eliminator Shock plates or will they work with stock Parts?

Thank you.

B2001 for the front.
B217 for the rear.

Yes, I'm running B body shock plates on the rear, so the rear part number is for '66-'70 B bodies (may include other years).

I'm not sure if they have a shock that will work with a factory ISO setup. You'd have to look at their catalog, but to be honest I think you'd be wasting potential of such an expensive shock not removing the ISO setup first.
