Oh, yeah, I never used the transmitter type. I used the ones that plugged directly into the antenna cable... worked perfectly every time. I don't even know if you can get them anymore, though.

They were the seriously old-school ones, but they were effective. The ones with which I have experience had little slider switches to choose a frequency. I haven't seen one in probably 20 years; even when they were available everyone wanted the transmitter type.

My buddy who's used to be an AV guy.
He has this box that transmits up to a mile or two with mini toggles inside to set the frequency.....sort of like that?

We use it to hijack the cheesy hits station up north in the trailer park.
If you're within a mile and change from us....tune into the appropriate frequency and you're listening to our station... :blob1:

It was sorta like that, yes, but it had a cable jack in one end and a pigtail for the radio danglin' out the other... usually a metal case, too, though the last couple I saw were that new-fangled plastic stuff they used to replace bakelite a couple years back. :icon_biggrin:

Getting Into Rubber

After the rubber return line gave up the ghost it got me thinking it might be a good idea to start going over all the other rubber lines in this car...if one is rotten how far behind are the rest?

My hunch was right....
As you can see the one coming off the fuel pump has done it's time...

Are you using injector line? It withstands the alcohol much better than regular cheap "fuel line". I had issues on my '72 with regular line softening, so I installed injector line and it seems much better.

Yes Sir....
I run ethanol free but still I figured injector line was a better choice.

So jealous. Our county doesn't have any real gas available anymore. The closest is about an hour drive north. It's a horrible situation.

In our supposedly World Class (ass) city I'm down to one option
Shell 91....highest ethanol free octane rating I can get.
Everybody other station in a city of 3 million only has ethanol garbage.

Just under $1.60/liter up here.....ouch.
Roughly $6/gallon.
I still pay it though.
The gas mileage and driveability seems more than worth it to me.
