Irish Car Bomb

I sloshed a bit once I dropped in the shot glass.
I'm such a lightweight...
Only drank about half and then had my cousin's husband finish it for me.

Got to lick the icing from the mixer.

Celebrated my first birthday without the Mister. Glad I was with my cousin and her family.
Bittersweet.

Your Irish Car Bomb looks like a great time and I’m betting that the second one would be more fun than the first.
Hang in there JW

After reviewing last week, its clear my cognitive skills were a bit lacking after the Irish Car Bomb.

I put the beater in there with the icing because it was Bailey's Irish Cream Icing for the Guiness Stout and Bailey's chocolate cake ... becauuuuuuusssseeeeee ...
it was my birthday. So since I had two 'libations' that day (one liquid and one edible), I skipped last week.

Now we have a new Friday, and I'm thinking about what I'm having..
could be Canadian Mist and Coke
could be the special small bottle of vodka in the freezer with pineapple juice or peach juice
another bottle of wine
or go search through the closet for something else...
Getting close to the 'go buy something new' level or head down to my brother's and 'borrow something for a drink' level.

I really should focus on some of those 'old fashioneds recipes' ...

But I have another hour of computer programming to do, so tonight's libation will be later this evening.

So I went with pineapple juice and vodka made in Austin, Texas. Not sure if that is a thing, but it sounded like it should be.

It was pleasant, but not noteworthy.

The vodka didn't have that brutal end note like the kind my Dad drank. Thank goodness. But, I think I'll just get the makings for some other drinks and try something else. next time.

Tito's is a good low proof neutral spirit. I think they are producing their own base spirit. When they started in business I understand they bought Ethanol from a huge plant just 30 miles north of me and then ran it through their own column still to finish it. How many bottles can you get out of a train car of alcohol? LOL

I'd be all trashed with that stuff, so I'll stick with a glass (or a bottle) of white wine.

The pineapple sounds good but I believe I’d have it with tequila, but that’s a night best forgotten… lol

I have done a bit of programming back in the day (C++, Unix shell), so I'm wondering what language you are using.
Oh Greg just where do I start ... lol
C++ and I were never a match.
Unix for a few years.
Big Iron for most of my years. I worked sales systems and then planning systems for Frito Lay Corporate HQ for several years.
Then Y2K as well.
Cobol, IMS, DB2, SAS, Syncsort, PDQ, Focus then I grew tired of the golden handcuffs and 100 hours weeks at corporate. Quit and began 21 years of caregiving so in the evening when I finally had some down time I learned PHP, Mysql, HTML, CSS... now I'm taking online courses in Javascript, Python and JSON while I work with a product called Processwire. Never got to use my degrees. Coding was my escape from the reality of family health issues I could only mitigate but ultimately never fix.

The remote work was correcting data hygiene issues caused by 3 prior employees that didn't know what the heck they were doing as well as coordinating between the company doing packaging artwork and the quality control folks responsible for NIS data sheets.

I completely missed the boat on all this Business Intellegence software..not that I mind. Its seems like its just a point and click interface to the pre-processed data behind the seens, but aren't we all a bigot to what we learned first?

Tom will tell you, I seem to ramble a bit nowdays. Sorry if its TMI. Had a root canal today and my brain has been all over the place.

You ever done anything with JSON and Javascript?

Already gave my cousin a new bottle of tequila last year. She and her husband like it.

Taking two bottles of Bailey's on my trip to west Texas to pick up the 56 Chevy Belair at the end of this week. One for the 86 year old cousin I'm staying with and the other for her young neighbor -- he's been gracious enough to put the car on jack stands and bust loose the lugnuts so all the tires/rims are off.

He said his wife and he like Bailey's as well, so I figure I'll just corrupt the two houses simulataneously this weekend. Easy way to say thank you and it travels well.

Don't take this the wrong way, but where the heck did you come from Mr. Super Moderator Toolmanmike?

I've been out of pocket for the pat 10 months or so.

What's your story?

Dude. You need a better story about picking your name. lol. Yes I could tell you that I had a limp cause I hit my knee in the suburban trailer hitch twice in the same week BUT. It’s so much more exciting if I tell you that I didn’t stick the landing when I got off the mule while hunting feral hogs. Or maybe twisted it while jumping down from putting corn inthe deer feeder. Lead with something Marvelous and end with the dry truth of suburban trailer hitch.

Or maybe. We should all make up a story about your name?

Just sayin.

Glad you are an over achiever on The forums though.

I have also done HTML and CSS, but like you I was never able to take my classroom experience into the real world. Be careful mixing the pain meds (from the root canal) with the alcohol.
High pain tolerance so no pain meds for me. Although tomorrow I’m going to have a Tylenol if this pounding in my tooth doesnt ease off.

I agree on not mixing things with alcohol though. Especially driving and meds.

So I’m sitting 388 miles from home at my cousins house. She’s a Texas tech fan and is watching March madness.

Now you know what an 86 year old lady drinks while she watches Texas tech play basketball. I’m having one as well

I’d say that some of us are slow learners.
