Anyone ever see any of these? While the US was getting smog dogs, Mexico was able to enjoy legit 250-300hp Mopar muscle cars for a few more years.

“Unlike many “sport” editions in North America during the 1970s, the Magnum was more than just an appearance package. The only engine was Chrysler’s 360 cubic-inch V8 with a 4-barrel carburettor, reportedly rated at 300 hp, and mated to either the A727 three-speed automatic or the A833 four-speed manual transmission. The Magnum used components from the police edition Dart/Diplomat, including stiffer springs, thicker front and rear stabilizer bars and an engine oil cooler.”

The 1977-1980 Mexican Valiant Super Bee was no slouch either.

“The Super Bee was equipped with the 360 V8 engine and 300 hp, the three-speed Torque Flite automatic transmission (or the four-speed manual transmission), sports wide wheels, front spoiler, and a rear spoiler-style Trans Am with the Super Bee spelling (with an optional blind in the rear window). The federal highway patrol used Super Bee as a squad car. For the 1980-model year, the Super Bee received a new front with rectangular headlamps.”

i always liked the black in the headlight buckets. might do that to my car. i thought about trying to get one of the dart wagons from Mexico as i've always wanted a dip wagon and i've only ever seen one in real life, but these cars are more common in Mexico than in the US. thing is many have been run into the ground. look at some Mexican used car sale websites, you'll see some interesting cars!

Mexico had some cool cars in the 1980s.... that also includes their version of the monte carlo and a type of Dodge Monaco. 2 Door variants of the M body are awesome.

Has anyone ever seen any sales literature on the Mexican super bees? Would be interested to see what was offered from the factory. Other than the stripes, never have seen more than one like another.

I got to get it off a hd, but here is a 78 T and its a factory car with the stripes.Which makes one ask, where was the T convo done.

My mexi bee has a B in the vin so it was made here and exported but then it gets even stranger.

No 5 mph restrictions.

But to answer Buds question, ive found and could be wrong, but there were some us versions exported as export cars and then then there was the full mexi build.

Notice all the mexi bees I posted look like they have the bumpers tucked but thats oem for them. And just might be why our US cars look so "normal" with the bumpers tucked.
