Here is another Mexican Spec car.

This is the opposite from the coupes I posted.

This is the Diplomat front end with the Plymouth Volare rear end.

What do you think of this one?

I like it, kind of best of two worlds.

The Diplomat's front end and instrument panel is nice, but I've always thougth the Volare/Aspen wagon rear end looks better than the Dip.

Ah yes... I can almost smell that rich velour from here.

I didn't pay attention to the fact they did use the Diplomat instruments.

It wasn't just that they put the front end sheet metal on the Volare Wagon.

They really made things complicated for themselves mixing and matching so many pieces.

looks like the diplomats instrament cluster is the same as the le baron.
I really like the looks of the southern dart wagon. makes me want to try building one or locating a real one some day.
I wonder how many still exist.

In the 60,70 and 80s Chysler was great at making there money count using the U.S. parts from previous years into new export vehicles or vehicles made outside the U.S.. Australia is a good example...

I’m looking for a M body brushed aluminum dash bezel NOS or excellent used condition for an AC car.

It would be great if you put the word out to your friends in Mexico if any one had one. Thanks for your help.

It's funny that this one has f body rear and m dash while the coupes in the other post were opposite with m rear and f dash.

The same thing happened with the Mustang.

The hatchback had the Mustang front end with Capri fenders while the coupe had the Capri front end with Mustang fenders.

That tells me they had the parts in the factory to put Mustang with Mustang but they wanted the Mexican car to look as different from the US car as possible.

Was curious because i think my 72 Superbee was built at the Automex plant. Would love to find the Automex washer bottle for it and perhaps some Automex floor mats.

import duties will likely be applied on top of regular shipping costs. it would be a lot cheaper to fly down, and drive it back.
