Excuse the potential ignorance
But what's the final goal you're going for?
1/4 mile car?
Or something else.
I can tell this thing is being built to mean business.

Circle track. I only know, because I've skimmed through it already twice today..I'm hooked.

No doubt. I like the build..its different. Usually, you see drag cars. Nothing wrong there..heck, a third of my goal is based on 1/4 mile time. But still...the detail, cleanliness, etc...I'll be watching for sure.

Maybe I missed it, but whats going in it?

Thanks for the compliments! I do the best with what I have.

The drivetrain going in it is a 360 4bbl, Cast 1980 intake with a Thremoquad from a '75 440, .030" over dished pistons, 340 (kinda) camshaft, stock 596 heads with .020" shaved off, OEM iron adjustable rockers and 1992 Magnum exhaust manifolds backed by a 904 Auto and a welded 8.25 with 2.45's.

Racing on a 3/8 mile clay oval track.

This is the car we built at my work about 4 years ago. Old "Myrtle" is still running strong and brought home top points last year.

Brand new never raced. Bone stock rebuilt 360 2bbl from a 1990 Dodge truck, 904, Welded 8.25 with 2.2's.

The shop bought this car last year, It's an '87 5th Ave, Rebuilt 360 2bbl from a '76 Monaco, 904, Welded 7.25 with 2.2's.

Before.

Thanks man!

Got the mounts stripped, welded and ready for paint last night. Just about to go out again for the day.

Both of our other cars leak through the speedo gear housing and mine did too from that little seal around the cable drive.

So I fixed that issue with a brass pipe plug and some JB Weld epoxy.

The bottom end of the engine is done as well as the oil pan.

Running a Milodon one piece gasket I had to fill in the front corners of the pan with some pieces of 1/4" steel.

I had found that the screen in the pickup was pushed up exposing the hole in the center of the pick up screen, so to make life easier I removed the outer cover, fixed the screen and soldered a dime to the hole. I'm not expecting the screen to clog anyways so the hole is irrelevant.

Slight modification to this 318 windage tray to make it fit the 360.

All four wheels are painted the same way, they are just two different sets of wheels.

Finally got around to installing the hood pins and finishing the hood.

This is as far on the engine as I can get right now.

Was going to rebuild the Thermo-Quad I picked out to use and after I took the screws out I opened it up I promptly put it back together and and tightened back up the screws and call that done.

Someone not very long ago had already done that, it was brand new and shiny inside and the gaskets and O-rings were soft and new.

They also had went to the trouble of very professionally adding a vacuum advance port to this Lean Burn carb. Shame I don't use the vacuum advance.

I "repaired" the choke linkage.

I also added an internal star lock washer behind the linkage as well as the wire.

Checked the measurements and put it in a box.

I love it when that happens.

Made up an aluminum sun visor.

Had to make longer studs for my valve cover T-handles. What a pain!

Valve covers are finished. Made some baffles for them too.

Rewelded the transmission crossmember. It was then painted white. Go figure.
