They say the background check takes about 10 days or so... it takes a while but it will all be worth it when I am doing what I love to do....Fixing cars.

Got more parts coming in for the suspension rebuild. I had forgot that the bleeder screw was seized on the drivers side caliper so I ordered a new caliper so I don't have to bleed it like I did last time through the hose. should be here on the 5th. also just went ahead and ordered the rubber bushings so I dont have to worry about messing up the sleeves for the poly bushings. recently found out that the PCV hose was not getting vacuum so I had to notch the gasket to get that working.....that fixed the water in the oil problem I was troubleshooting. cant wait to get an alignment and new tires....:) going with the Bf Goodrich's Radial T/A all the way. I need a solution for a 4 speed shifter linkage. Can a 3spd linkage be modified to a 4 speed?

Rich, I have duty Sunday. I am driving up your way tomorrow to drop off the wife and baby with the in-laws in Macon if you want to meet up. I would love to see you again. After duty I can dig up my linkage rods to show you what I have with measurements. I bet two of the rods might work out of the three.

On the first part of your quote, how does that work exactly?-exactly what do you mean?

oh for the poly bushings you have to take the rubber out of the old bushings or take the rubber out of some new ones you have to have the outer sleeve for the polybushings

John got it from a guy in Ocalla Fl. worth every penny wasnt it like 130 or so after the gas? the guy even threw in a pressure plate and clutch.

That was YY1 (FABO) down in Lakeland. $60 bucks (plus gas) for the (truck motor) slant six motor {drilled pilot bushing}, clutch, pressure plate, flywheel bolts... everything we needed to swap parts between the Volare's slant 6, & the Aspen's slant six-which was also a stick shift, slant six vehicle. The Volare's original motor had EVERY possible thing wrong with timing, yet Richard could get it to barely run-we used it's oil pan, valve cover and some bolts.

I am not sure about now, but I had this theory in years gone by, that a few of the complementary parts cars combined together would be cheaper than buying parts separately for a project build. It was a long drive starting at noon, getting back in the early hours of the next morning. It worked out great, especially since we were so close to broke. The stars really aligned for Rich and me to help each other out-am totally grateful.

OK....I was having a really bad morning with the car I tried to start it and it wouldnt start unless I feathered the gas with the choke on which was a Pain in the butt because it knocked the fast idle off.... then I noticed my NEW locking gas cap had dents and scratches all over it and the paint is scratched where someone tried to take my gas but failed...then I noticed what looked like gear oil around the hole and then I took the cap off and saw some turd pried the cap enough to get a hose or something in there I ran the car long enough to burn off that crap....it wasnt running very well since the warmer temps came around and higher humidity.

Then I was reminded about the original engine that was in the car and all the problems it was having I reset the timing adjusted the fuel air mix and now it runs better than ever. I was test driving it and at 10 MPH then I floored it and smoked tires on dry pavement in a straight line. (the tires are over 10 inches wide so it takes some torque to bust em loose)...Needless to say that engine is mint. and it takes more than a little gear oil to kill a slant...just sayin

They were trying to screw with the car. I basicly live in the ghetto...this area used to be just college students and townies. Now its all section 8 food stamp zombies that dont even own a car or a bicycle. last month I had a gun pulled on me for asking my neighbor why he doesnt share the trash can that all the tenants pay for. he was keeping it on his porch. These people are dangerous and crazy. None of them have jobs unless you count selling drugs....SMFH...Its the main reason I am moving to the next county over.
